Pros: O.K. Shave Cons: Doesn't shave as closely as I'd like; cheap-ish construction; poor soft-case
UPDATE JUNE 2005 I won't go through the whole of my review to change relevant parts, but I do have some important updates that change my recommendation to a 'No'. 1. The cheapness of the construction resulted in a plastic part - within the part that ...
Pros: Good. Convenient. Cheap. Easy to take on a trip. Cons: Foils tend to tear. The cleaning brush is insufficient for the job.
I have owned two of these shavers over the years, and compared to the other electric shavers (Norelco and other low-cost Brauns), this is the best shaver I have ever owned. I have a medical condition that as a side effect, causes very stiff facial ...
Pros: Nice size, easy to hold, excellent price, good shave, solidly-made Cons: Somewhat fragile foil screen (mine cracked/broke after 6 months of use)
I previously used a rotary Norelco shaver and COULD NOT get it to shave my neck closely or without giving me a severely razor-burned neck. I tried this shaver out--on a whim--and was very impressed! The first shave was closer and better-looking than ANY ...
Pros: Inexpensive, rechargable battery, good shaving performance. Cons: Not as close as a razor, but not as irritating to your skin either.
The Braun Interface 3612 Electric Shaver is not very expensive, but it seems to works as well as most other electric shavers I have used in the past. I have owned mine for more than three years and it keeps on working. The last Braun I lost on a business ...
Pros: Inexpensive. comfortable shave. Charges quick. Cons: Not a close shave. Still misses hairs. Trimmer hard to use.
I have been using this for only one week so I may have a different opinion later after a while esp if the foil wears out quickly like it has for others here. I have a thick heavy beard with side burns and a goatee. I have been swapping to and from ...
Pros: It was a cheep buy. Cons: It was as cheep as it's price.
This was my first shaver, ever. Being a teen I decided to go electric to get used to shaving. At first I thought that it's inability to do anything without going over the same area 3-5 times was my inexperience. But after using this shaver for about a year and a half, and it still takes 3-5 passes over the same area to do anything I have come to relies that in fact this razor (if you can call it that) just sucks.
Now the 3-5 times is for my cheeks and side burns. It cant even cut on my neck, or my jaw line. The sideburn trimmer is also so badly placed that it is almost completely useless. I would not recommend this to anyone especially to those of use just learning to shave.
Pros: charge lasts long, price Cons: Replacement blades are too expensive, Only one screen, 2 screens probably shave better.
I have never been able to get a shave as close as a blade from an electric. My beard is to thick for them. I have owned Norelco and Remington. I don't shave with an electric every day. I mainly use electrics for shaving around moles on my face that I always cut with a blade razor ( I probably should see a doctor about having the moles lopped off). This was the cheapest razor I could find ($23 tax at Wal-Mart) and it works pretty well on my beard after a days growth. I would say I like it better then my old Norelco and Remington but those are 10 years old. The charge lasts a long time. It gives a decent shave in between razor shaves. I did notice that the replacement blades cost almost as much as the razor at Wal-Mart. I'll probably just buy a new (different) razor when the screen wears out.
Pros: Close shave in the hard to reach spots. Cons: The trimmer is not much good as it is located in the wrong area.
I bought this shaver with the idea it would make a good trimmer around lips and neck. One day I used it instead of my Syncro and got a good shave.
Since it has one head I thought it would be slower, but it wasn't. I have used every good electric shaver including Braun and Norelco, and this is the one I stick with.
The "break-in" time was much less than other electrics.
It is a bit noisy, but I couldn't care less as it gives a great shave. The batteries charge quickly and last longer than my Norelco or Syncro.
Pros: Wal-mart sells them now... Cons: Vibrates, very expensive screen/cutter replacements, substandard shave, awkward trimmer design (useless).
I bought this shaver to replace my worn-out Remington triple-foil cordless shaver, I wish I had spent the money on another Remington. If you have a lot of time to burn shaving the same spot over and over again to finally get an acceptable shave, well then, this shaver is for you! The pop-up cutter and the so-called beard trimmer are an absolute joke, the poor design of both of these "features" leave an awful lot to be desired. To top it off, this thing buzzes in your hand like a you-know-what, I have also gone through 3 sets of screens and cutters in 4 months, they just don't seem to last the 18 months that they proclaim on their owners guide. I used to think that the name Braun meant good German quality, but this thing is the Yugo of cordless shavers!!
Less than perfect... less than useful by pmsiilbc,Nov 15 '03
Pros: Inexpensive and sleek design Cons: Very Poor Shave... especially under the jaw line
It retails for about $30. That may seem like a good price, but after you use if a few times, you realize that "you get what you pay for." Avoid this shaver like the plague. Although the Braun name means quality, this shaver does not deserve the name.
Pros: easy to use, clean and gave relatively close shave Cons: wouldnt charge after about 2 years of use
My parents got my this razor and I have been very very happy with it. It finally died today but that was after a long time and it wont hold a charge which I don't mind because it's only a 30 dollar razor. But the times it did work it was very easy to use, and gave a relatively close shave.
Pros: Long battery life, inexpensive Cons: Inconveniently placed popup trimmer
Having bought it on sale for $20, I wasn't expecting too much from this razor. I oscillate between a beard and a goatee, so I purchased it mainly due to the price, the second cutter for edge work, and to deal with my yeti-neck. It's not the best razor I've ever owned and requires several passes for a close shave, but for the price I've been quite satisfied with the performance. The battery life is fantastic, with an acceptable charge lasting several weeks even in goatee mode, and that combined with it's compact shape make it attractive for business trips. The cutter works nicely for longer hairs, and the foil does an acceptable job. The popup cutter isn't positioned very conveniently, but I'm hard pressed to think of where else they would have put it.
Pros: Good shave Cons: Very expensive replacement parts.
I bought this shaver in December, 2003 (last year). The foil has torn, January, 2004. The shaver is not abused, the protective guard is on when the shaver isn't being used. When I bought the shaver, I paid $45 Canadian for it. I can't buy just a new foil, I have to buy the foil and cutter head for $32 Canadian. That's only $13 less than an entire shaver!
Pros: Price, look, easy to use,no irritation, rechargeable. Cons: Klingons will not be fooled. Will not replace a quality multiblade straight for smoothness.
I have only used a blade razor until now and it always left my face feeling like porridge no matter which fancy razor I tried. So I finally decided to buy an electric.
The Interface 3612 was the most appealing to me because it looks like a man's razor and not a new age "shaving system" that looks more like a Star Trek phaser.Although I'm sure they give a good shave. The price was also the lowest of name brand rechargeables as well.
The shave is adequate unless you're looking for a baby's butt smoothness then you should stick to a blade or fork out more dough. What I love about this razor is I no longer dread shaving and there is no irritation and I have pretty soft, fair skin to boot. Now I can go to work without the "rebel lumberjack" comments:)
