I ordered from the online store on Dec 12th. Multiple calls and emails assured me that the status of my order was find - it just wasn't updated online. Dec 18th I received email from Plow and Hearth offering free shipping upgrade to guarantee Christmas delivery. I called and was again assured not necessary.
I received email on the 20th telling me it was shipped and would arrive on the 26h. I called and the very first thing I was told was that I can't cancel once it is shipped.
More disappointing than the late ship is the deliberate misinformation I received from customer service.
The goods came on the 26th and were just what I wanted. In the future I would not use them again, even non holiday.

The early November ordered item arrived on time, HOWEVER, the item was defective. A phone call brought a response that "we will send you a return shipping label". Two more weeks and three phone calls later we got the label. The item was shipped back with a request for another similar item in a different size. "It'll be there by December 18th" was the response to a December 15th phone inquiry.
Late December "We'll be sure it's there in a few days!.

Placed an order with them, received my order confirmation with order #, 2 days later received cancellation notice with some lame excuse about an "error" on their website that caused them to accept more orders than they had inventory. However, when I checked Amazon.com later, they still had the same product in stock, but for a much higher price.

I can't say enough good things about this company. Call them on the phone, and you get a friendly voice with real Southern hospitality. The Web site is the same...it's easy to navigate, and contains a LOT of great information...great recipes, great hints for outdoor living and gardening. And the products are top notch--I've purchased prints, blinds, kitchen accessories, and furniture from them, and the quality is the best that's out there. My only regret is that I didn't get in on their upholstered sofa before it went out of stock--but hopefully it'll be back soon. Highly recommended!

This is the first time that I have bought anything from P&E and will probably be the last. I bought a set of panels and was disappointed with the quality. The surface of the panels has some whitish thing on it- like the paint has come off.

Long story short...I placed my order on 12/2. By 12/12 I had not received a delivery notification and their website said my order was still being "processed". I called and was told by Paul "the floor supervisor" that if I had "coughed up more money for shipping it would have been there on time". It is now 18 days post order, no delivery has arrived. Plow and Hearth has refused to refund my card until I wait for the package to arrive (HA! their website STILL says it is in their warehouse) and return it at MY EXPENSE! Five days before Christmas and I'm filing complaints with the BBB and filing papers with my bank to have the charges reversed. Plow and Hearth's customer service employees and practices are a joke.
