Great for Clean-up, Poor for Trimming
by lisagrogin,Mar 24 '05
Pros: Vacuum Cons: Flexible blade guard
I am writing this for my husband so it may not be as complete as possible, but here I go.
On out trip to Target to buy a new trimmer we ran across this one. While a bit more than the others offered I voted for it for the vacuum feature. I was tired of having bits of hair in my contact case and everywhere else.
While the vacuum feature is not 100% effective, I no longer have to clean the sink everyday and I no longer find bits of hair everywhere in the bathroom. I do find this a great positive.
On the down side, it does not produce a great trim. The plastic tines are extremely flexible and move around while in use. This produces an uneven trim and looks pretty weird sometimes. Because of this it takes longer to trim a beard than the old trimmer we had. Also we could not get the guard off for several months to be able clean the blade or get a really close shave.

by lzech,Dec 10 '04
Pros: Cutting blade is great real sharp Cons: Chute going to filter plugs up to easy
Like the cutting ability of the blades. But the Tube running to the filter plugs up real easy..Always using a pencil or coat hanger to remove hair.

okay product

Pros: trimmer works great Cons: vacuum capability is worthless
The trimmer itself works great, but the built in vacuum is more or less useless. It does collect some of the hair from you beard as you trim, but also allows quite a bit to fall below you. The feature basically sounds better then its actual usefullness.

Works great!
by dewey59,Aug 29 '05
Pros: Easy to use, provides uniform trim length, great battery life. Cons: None
This trimmer is excellent at trimming my beard to a uniform length. The head is easily removable to access the blade for detail or "edge trimming". Some of the other reviews complained about the vacuum feature, but I think it works quite well. I never expected that it would catch all the trimmings, but it does get most of them. I highly recommend this trimmer.

Don't buy!

Pros: Holds a good charge. Cons: Guard is too flexible. Does not allow precision cutting. Vacuum feature is a gimmick.
The cutter guide, or guard, is very springy. If you're not extremely careful, the guides bend and allow for some very uneven cutting!
When the guard is removed to allow for precision cutting, the design is such that you cannot see the blades when you are trimming the edge of your mustache. It is almost impossible to get the blade into the corners around your mouth, and you have to guess where the blade is going to land!
Finally, I chose this model because of the vacuum feature, but it proved ineffective. It picks up 75% of the hair, but you still have a cleanup to do.
