Pros: easy to use, cheap, nice storage container, easy to upgrade
Cons: You constantly have to make sure collars are tightened after every exercise
I bought this set at Sears a couple of years ago. It is fairly sturdy and extremely simple.
It is not as nice or as easy to change weights as the power blocks or the Reebok pin dumbbells but they are a lot cheaper.
You put the weights on and then you use a spin collar to 'fasten' or hold them on. You can buy additional weights for usually for 1-2$ per pound and they work fine.
They have held up well through 2 moves and lots of use. I use them for all kinds of exercises and they are nice to have around.
The case is nice for traveling with but I don't use it to hold the weights normally as it gets to be a pain to pull out(I am just lazy)
The bars themselves are cheaply chromed steel that has chipped a lot and lost aesthetic appeal but work fine.
