Tiny little 5 mp camera that takes great pictures......

by suemccartin, Jul 25 '05
Pros: Small, large LCD, many advanced settings possible
Cons: no panorama/stitch mode
I hope that the person in charge at epinions will see to it to replace the incorrect photo for this item. I own several older digitals including a semi-professional EOS Rebel setup, all are great cameras but sometimes you just want to be able to whip ...

Quality & Control

by photoflix, Oct 16 '05
Pros: Focus, 1.8 LCD, flash, manual options good, 3 X Optical zoom fantastic.
Cons: Indoor lighting pics not so great.
I bought this because i wanted to get into photography in a SMALL way. I could not have gotten better! Nice point and shoot options on Auto, then the surprise of all the manual functions you can play around with, including focus mode ( Macro works ok, ...

Lens error after very little use

by margot530, Mar 06 '08
Pros: big screen, easy to use.
Cons: eats batteries, indoor shots had poor quality, delayed flash, broke very quickly.
Got this as a Christmas gift about 2 years ago, and absolutely loved it! I'd never had a digital camera before so this was great!! It worked fantastic outside, but the inside pictures were really of poor quality... They seemed grainy and unfocused, ...

Takes great pictures at a great price.
by lou2200,Oct 13 '07
Pros: Overall, a great camera for your money.
Cons: Shutter lag.
This camera was a great buy. It takes excellent quality pictures, and is simple to use. It seems to be very durable as it has survived over a year, even being used (without my knowledge) by my 3 and 5 year olds. I have taken hundreds and hundreds of pictures with it and have not had any problems to date. It seems to have exceptional battery life (compared to my old HP) and has several neat features, my favorite being the rotating selector switch to go between modes. The only thing I dislike is the shutter lag. In low light or indoor conditions, it seems like it takes forever to snap the picture.

Pros: Cheap; Easy to use; Black case with belt loop!
Cons: Cheap; Chews through batteries & doesn't like taking photos.
While on holiday, a friend dropped my Cannon digital & broke the screen. While he was getting it fixed, i decided to buy myself a cheap camera to keep me going & allow me to record the places i visited & the people i saw.
I SOOOOO wish i'd spent a little more or shopped around for something better.
Although reasonably easy to operate, with a few nice features, the battery life is awful & it seems to need to think about everything it does.
After approximately two weeks (around 40 photos & 5 sets of decent batteries) something went wrong & i can no longer use it.
The screen only works for changing settings & reviewing photos on my SD card, but won't show what you're looking at & takes photos that are darker than a winters night on the moon.
The flash still works, so it's kind of a very slow disco strobe / expensive memory card holder.
At least i have some new cables & a new case for when i get my other camera back...

OK for a disposable
by freelance81,Jan 07 '08
Pros: It was cheap and the reviews seemed to be good.
Cons: Eats batteries, slow shutter speed, picture quality poor.
This camera disappointed me. Being a student at the time and with a tiny budget, I bought it for £100, but not before checking it out and comparing it to other cameras.

The battery dies very quickly, rechargeable or not, shutter speed slow, picture quality not that impressive despite the 5mp. The Lens is now stuck and I can only get as far as "Lens error". The amount I've spent on batteries alone probably could have bought me a flashier model.

I now own a Sony cybershot which is amazingly good. Sony have never let me down, if only I'd gone for it in the first place.

Do not buy this camera if you intend to use it for taking more than 10 pictures before discarding it.

Great Value
by keylakecrv,Aug 09 '05
Pros: Easy to use, large monitor, great value
Cons: Battery life is short but I have nothing to compare
My first digital camera and I'm impressed. I could not find this quality for this price in another camera. It is small, light, easy and fun to use, large monitor, and 5 .0 so pics are clear and have great color.

Great Value for the money!!
by shepfamily,Aug 18 '05
Pros: 5 Megapixels, 3x Optical/4x digital zoom, palm size, Easy to use - Great value!
Cons: None.... Only wish it came in 6 or 7 megapixels.
I bought this camera about a week ago and I have nothing but praise. I paid $136. for this 5 megapixel camera brand new from an EBay store and would have paid more with the value I have experienced so far. Some complain about the battery life -- regular alkaline batteries will not last in any digital camera, especially if you use the video mode. Buy some rechargeable 2200 mAh NIMH batteries and you never buy batteries again, plus you shoot over 200 pictures on a single charge and don't have to wait for the flash to charge. This camera has many features, some you may never use, but well worth it compare with other digital cameras.

Great for first timers
by fkeddy,Sep 22 '05
Pros: good price for the Megapixels
Cons: eats batteries, and fast
I just bought this camera a few days ago, it didnt take me but about 15 minutes to learn most of the features, it has a great LCD, takes beautiful pictures, and had a wonderful price, I have always wanted a digital camera and this one far excedes my expectations, just love the video mode also, the only thing is the battery, eats alot of the AA..have to go to the rechargable, but it'll be worth it in the long run.

PLEASANT Surprise........
by bobd1950,Jul 31 '05
Pros: LCD,ZOOM,SIZE,value for the $.
Cons: The manual was a little wordy.Software Cd is "just" OK.
My 4th DigCamera in the last 4 yrs,,, and the best by far.
You have to study all the features over a couple of cups of coffee..but then you can just start to enjoy the intuitive details offered in this compact size.

LARGE and ezzee to read LCD. Many options for various setings, indoor or out,low or high light conditions, still or action.
...QUICK recovery between shots.

I would say a beginner might feel a bit ovecome by the options ,but they are so well laid out one can be acclamated in no time.
..and a pleasant surprise..I purchased at a Local WalMart at a price that was the lowest$ ive seen.Under 170$.

Next a new Computer(?)!!!....

Broke after having less than one month!
by scrdofchickens,Jan 28 '06
Pros: Good picture quality
Cons: Lens error- the lens would not open anymore
I bought this camera and was disappointed when the lens/zoom mechanism malfunctioned. I barely used it and was frustrated that it was broken after only having used it a couple of times. I had to return it and thankfully I did it within a month because I would have been stuck with the broken camera.

CRAPEST DIGICAM EVER!!!!!
by wangboi,Dec 20 '05
Pros: NONE, IT LOOKS SORT OF GOOD, IN THE BOX.
Cons: DOSNT WORK, CRAP QUALITY. CRAP QUALITY PHOTOS. FLASH BURNT OUT.
AN ABSOLULT WASTE OF TIME, MY BATTERY LASTED FOR ONLY 30MINS. PICTURE QUALITY ISTHE CRAPEST I HAVE EVER SEEN, LIKE ON AN OLD MOBILE PHONE. FLASH BURNT OUT IN A DAY, ONLY TOOK 4 PHOTOS. I WILL DEFIENTLY BURN THIS CAMERA, IM GOING TO GO FOR THE NIKON 4200, MUCH BETTER. VIVITAR IS A CRAP NAME. SCREEN WENT FUNNY, ENDED UP BLACK AND WHITE. IT SMELT OF WET DOG TOO. CARD HOLDER ATE MY CARD. SERIOUSLY, IT DISAPPEARED INSIDE. THIS IS TRUE. I HEARD OF 4 PEOPLE THAT THIS ALL HAPPENED TO.
