Pros: Very nice, clear messages. Even the ones you record yourself Cons: Price was a little too high for the features when compared to other electronics.
Considering that I just bought a new DVD player for $7 more, this answering machine is a little disappointing. I paid around $20 for it at Walmart. For the price, I expected a little more. Now, price not factored in, it isn't bad. It took a bit to ...

Pros: When you need an answering machine, but don't care what the messages say... Cons: One of the worst examples of audio quality of any modern consumer device.
Most of the usual functions are in there. Volume, Next [message], Previous [message], digital readout of number-of-messages, time stamp, records digitally using electronic memory instead of magnetic tape. As much of today's modern technology ...

JAMMED-NO RESPONSE WHEN BUTTONS PUSHED
by ayeayeirene,Oct 24 '08
Pros: inexpensive and small Cons: short life
It worked OK for a few months, then the day stamp would get messed up and state wrong day and hour after every 24 hrs of re-setting it. Now, the #8 is displayed in message window and pushing play or erase or any other button will not respond. It's as if it is unplugged but it is still lit up.
I know this was inexpensive but to only work about 7 months is pathetic.

A piece of CR*P
by debodun,Jul 31 '08
Pros: Are you kidding? Cons: Difficult complicated set up. Poor sound quality. Delicate electronic innards.
It took me 2 hours to figure out how to set it up. If there hadn't been a photo of the setup in the manual, I would never have figured it out from the written instructions. The sound quality was worse than a fast-food drive-thru intercom. Messages were garbled and sounded muffled or like the caller had the hiccups if they were calling from a mobile phone. Massages left from a landline were somewhat better. I had it two weeks and it broke. Something went wrong with the power to it, the thing wouldn't even light up.I took it back to Wal-Mart for a refund. Unfortunately, that's the only one our local Wal-Mart carries of a stand-alone answering machine. I seeking a better unit now.

incompatible with broadband Internet service
by royabes,Dec 23 '05
Pros: you can access your message remotely Cons: not compatible with broadband Internet connection
I bought a new GE 29875 Digital Answering Machine. It does not recorded voice messages. I thought the unit is not working and I went back to the store for a replacement. I have a broadband Internet connection using my phone line. I took me a time to figure out that the problem is its incompatibility with my phone line. I tried to set it up with the ordinary telephone line (sans broadband Internet connection) of my neighbor and it perfectly works well.
