Pros: May be interesting to some young boys. Cons: Deceitful protagonists, superstition and irreverence, mediocre writing--in short, no literary value.
DISCLAIMER: The following is merely a frame that I have chosen to adapt, for the simple sake of rendering my review more interesting to write. Although I am currently subject to one Professor O., I would never dare to deliver to her such a ...
Pros: Genuine characters, clever chronicling of events Cons: It's rather short.
Frequently noted on lists of American classic literature, Tom Sawyer is also often included on some libraries' banned book lists, alongside its counterpart, Huckleberry Finn. Why? Because Mark Twain has allegedly filled the novel with ...
Pros: Extremely entertaining book that has a sequel better than the first. Cons: Racial stereotypes that fit the context of the story, but may offend some.
"A modern day warrior... Ooooops! I thought this was the section for the song "Tom Sawyer" by RUSH. Hehe, sorry about that. I see now that it is for that Mark Twain classic "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer". You all...
Pros: Walks the walk, talks the talk of American boyhood adventures and
fantasies. Cons: Not meaningful like "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,"
but wasn't meant to be.
Sure, Mark Twain's matchless sequel, "The Adventures of
Huckleberry Finn," is a bona fide masterwork and my nominee for the Great American novel. "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" is a delightful childhood adventure, but not as thematically rich and...
Pros: Easy to read, keeps your interest. Cons: None
It's strange how a book written so long ago can remind me so much of my own childhood. My adventures were never as grand as those in Tom Sawyer and I never was the talk of the town as Tom is in the story, but I had similar dreams of fame and...
This is one of my childhood favorites! I loved the book from the very beginning. Tom Sawyer, the central character about whose adventures the book is written is a truant and is always in search of trouble for himself and those around him. Tom’s best...
Pros: Great story and plot. Cons: Sometimes boring.
If you like Mark Twain or if you want to read some of his books, then you should read "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer". It is a great book for anybody to enjoy. It about the life of Tom Sawyer. He has many adventures(as the title suggests).He's...
Tom Sawyer, hero or criminal by michigan3111,Dec 24 '03
Pros: great book, a real classic, many everyday comparisons Cons: you have to read in ye olde southern accent, (yes'm)
In this epic book,
you may want to take a look,
it takes place in the US of A,
but he becomes a pirate in a bay,
this little guy gets into trouble,
no matter what,
even if his (half-brother) Sid cuts,
I know my rhyme is pretty lame,
and its not helpful not even the name,
but if you want a book to keep you attention,
stay tuned and listen to Huck and his intervention,
this book is a classic as you all know
and you learn about friends, acquaintances, and foe(s)
this guy named Tom,
is quite the bomb,
he's a criminal in the start,
but he's a hero even when he trips on the cart,(which never happens)
I hope you enjoyed my poem,
and you weren't leaving your computer going to roam,
peace out my really great friend,
and remember all Tom does is bend,
on his road to joy,
stopping at Seigfried and Roy.
lolz, c ya
