Pros: lightweight, easy to use, sprays & suctions well Cons: Width of spray area is very wide, not good for tiny areas
I'm really surprised at some of the negative reviews on here regarding this product. I have never had any problems with this steam cleaner, and use it almost weekly! With 2 small children in the house there is almost always something to clean up. I ...

Pros: small, easy to use, good for quick spot clean-up Cons: itself not easy to clean, sprayer no longer works.
I've had my little green machine for about 3 years now, and I'm afraid I've worn the sprayer out. I have a cat and a dog, and this vacuum has been very handy. It will not replace a full-size carpet cleaning vacuum, but it will get new spots out. If ...

Pros: Easy to cleanup, lightweight, heater feature, scrub head attachment really rocks, doesn't use excessive fluid Cons: Kinda noisy
I bought this because I have 4 dogs that stay indoors most of the time (yes, I am crazy). Inevitably, there are occasionally little 'gifts' when I get home from work. I checked out several different models, and this one seems to have very good ...

Disappointed
by jbracewell,Jan 01 '07
Pros: Easy and light weight Cons: Fluid dispenser did not work from the beginning. Heater never worked.
From the very start I was not able to get the heat button to work, then it stopped dispensing fluid even though I was using the cleaner made for it. The motorized nozzle barely gets into the carpet fibers. I still used it for about a year but I had to put the cleaning fluid on the carpet manually then used the nozzle to suck it up. Yesterday it leaked through the bottom so I had to throw it out.

Almost Perfect!!!
by gizmoqt,Nov 06 '06
Pros: Compact, light weight, powerful, easy, clean up after use is very easy. Cons: You need to apply pressure on the wand when picking up the chemical solution
This little cleaner is compact, light weight, powerful, easy to use and gets the job done quite easy. It also cleans up and "wraps up" very easily. Every time I empty the dirty water that this little powerhouse has picked up, I am so amazed!
The chemicals that are made for this machine are incredible. About $7.00 and the bottle lasts for a number of fills in your machine, you can see stains start to dissolve before your eyes, and the fresh scent is very, very nice.
I am a carpet "freak", I really like my carpets clean! I would recommend this little machine for every closet as a spot, traffic area, and pet stain cleaner.
The only "disadvantage" is that I prefer to put some pressure on the nozzle, in a downward motion, to try to pick up as much water as possible. No real big deal though.

Nice machine, but sprayer is out of control
by clanmesa,Jul 15 '08
Pros: Easy to use. I like the heating mechanism. Small, not too heavy. Cons: Spray is way wider than the small brush. Be *careful* with the dirty water tank.
On the small 3" (seems more like 2 inches) brush, the sprayer sprays water out the sides to a total width of about 2-3 feet. Dang! They say it's a spot cleaner, but that's some big spot. I wish there were a way to modulate the sprayer. The big brush doesn't do as good a job as the smaller, but the sprayer is not as wide.
Also, be forewarned (we've found out the hard way - each family member, on their own) that the tank with the filthy water in it has two openings, so if you don't take it out *just so* to empty it, you could end up with filthy water all over your newly cleaned carpet.

Useless as a chicken-wire canoe
by eb_reinhardt,Nov 21 '06
Pros: made of recycleable plastic, fun to smash with sledgehammer Cons: doesn't clean carpets, impossible to clean thoroughly after use, smells bad, leaks
This infernal device actually left my carpets smelling and looking worse than before. It's awkward and difficult to use and, most importantly, does not work. The Little Green is an awful, awful product. I threw mine away after only a week. Back to the drawing board, Bissell.

What a Piece of Junk!
by stjames7,Jul 13 '05
Pros: None Cons: A waste of hard earned money
This never worked from day one. I threw out the box and receipt before I used it, so I was stuck. The nozzle soaked the rug without removing any soil, the vacuum nozzle left all the water in the carpet, and the "hot" water was a joke. Save your money. It went to the curb after my first try, $100 down the drain. I will never buy another Bissell product.

You get what you pay for
by collegehuny,Oct 26 '07
Pros: Easy to assemble, lightweight Cons: Doesn't clean that well
I bought this machine two days ago and am not impressed. I have a small dog who has an accident every now and again but I think that if you really want your carpets clean you should get a Rug Doctor.

Fantastic little carpet cleaner
by texasmom69,Jul 19 '06
Pros: Very handy, effective, affordable cleaner. Cons: Scrubbing feature on the wand is the weakness.
I have two dogs, two cats, and one kid and I needed a way to clean carpet spots without having to rent a huge, bulky machine every single time. This little machine is perfect for that. I have had mine for at least a year and I use it almost weekly. The scrub brush feature is the only thing I would complain about because I have to press hard for the bristles to reach into my carpet -- but other than that, I am very pleased. It is a little loud, but after all, it is a steam cleaner. It gets out 90% of spots I use it on. For the other 10% I use a little "Incredible" carpet cleaner (available at Kroger) and then suck up the liquid with the Bissell. Works great. I highly recommend this machine.

Great for Wine and Pets
by lendapawtoday,Aug 29 '06
Pros: I can immediately address any accident. Cons: I can't think of one con. I would never be without this product.
I owned the very first "Little Green Machine" over 10 years ago and then 3 years ago replaced it with the new model. This machine is a blessing. If you have cats with hair ball problems, this will do the trick. Red wine, no problem. I have white carpet throughout my home and this is the best tool for fast response to accidents. I would never be without it.

Spend the extra money to get a full sized cleaner
by angelaggie06,Dec 14 '06
Pros: Storable, portable, tanks are easy to empty/fill. Cons: Leaks, dirty water tank won't be clean after one use resulting in foul odor.
Don't waste your money. It cleans fairly well, but it isn't worth crawling on your hands and knees to clean every spot on the carpet. Works well if you get to the spot immediately, but if you wait at all you're going to have to work hard to get a spot cleaned. The clean water tank leaks when you've filled it up, the heater doesn't work well at all. Both tanks are easy to fill and empty, though if you cleaned a particularly dirty spot on the floor and dirt particles are stuck in the dirty tank it is next to impossible to get them out. This results in a very foul odor.

Turned My carpet Pink!!
by ocshopper,Nov 11 '04
Pros: I loved that it is small, it heats the water, and seemed easy to use. Cons: The RED brushes you use to scrub out stains BLED PINK on my carpet!
I bought this small Bissell thinking that I could use it for urine stains while I potty train my dog. I have light tan carpet and sometimes the urine shows up very yellow!I followed the directions and even bought the special pet stain and odor cleanser. I am very angry and want EVERYONE to know that this product will RUIN your carpet. PS I had to rip the carpet out and ended up with travertine!!
