It was like something out of a silent-era Buster Keaton film. I was at my daughter's dance recital and I brought along my six year old Olympus 3.3 megapixel camera. Just as I dropped the lens cap, some kid stepped on it - CRACK! As I was picking it ...

I had used a Sony DSC-S75 for at least 6 1/2 years. I carried it in a pouch on my belt when I hiked or traveled. Most of the time it lived in my back pack. It still had the original battery and over 5400 photos. So when it failed to work one day, maybe I ...

Not sure about this camera yet by darrenm6,Oct 09 '07
Pros: LCD display is great, light weight. Love the photo editing abilities. Cons: Not impressed with finished photos. yet.
My wife and I got the DSC-H9 last week, finally retiring our 3.0M Cybershot. We printed off 30 or so pics yesterday, and we were very disappointed. We are not professional photographers, but we do take lots of pics, and we were expecting very clear pictures from this camera.
As we are not experts, most of our pictures were taken in Auto program mode, (idiot proof, right?), but the pictures all came out a little grainy, and out of focus. Before you question it, the camera was set for auto focus, and 8M pics.
We are a sony family (handy cam, camera, dvd player, tv, etc), and have never had a problem before, so we have not made up our mind on this yet. We are going to try 2 things:
1. Take our photos to be developed so where else.
2. If that doesn't help, take the camera back and exchange it for another and see if ours now is just a dud.
Cyber-shot DSC-H9 has major design flaws by lotsacameras,May 30 '08
Pros: LCD screen is great. Camera is light. Menu is easy to use. Cons: Need high speed memory stick for movies. No adaptors to rectify engineering flaws.
I have an 18 month old Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H9. I also called the factory within 30 days of purchase explaining to a speaker of English their design flaws and asking for some way to correct them. No response. 1) The camera takes a picture of the adaptor ring edges, so all four picture corners show interference. 2) The lens adapter/hood sits in front of the flash. All flash pictures have a half moon shadow through the middle of them. The only way to avoid this is to unscrew the adaptor at night. 3) Flash pictures have grainy reds, greens, and blues throughout. The camera is designed for very small hands. My thumb base covers the sensitive control button and changes flash settings. This is definitely a small hands camera.
