I bought this for my wife. She likes taking photos for scrapbooking. One of her favorite subjects is our mini van. You know "mini van in the sun before a wash", "mini van with a few clouds", mini van parked on the neighbors dog", etc.... Ah, but I digress. The nights shots leave a little to be desired, or like taking a photo under a table at a restaurant or in a bathroom stall. I would recommend this camera only if I could get free stuff for doing it.

I previously owned another Sony camera and no problems so I figured I would buy another. I have owned my H5 since June 2006 and have not had any issues until last week when the shutter button popped off. After doing some research I have found that this is a common problem with the camera. I just paid to have it repaired at the tune of $190. I guess I learned my lesson and will purchase a Canon SLR next time.

I brought this camera back after two weeks of using it. I could not get good action shots inside (in any mode). They all came out blurry. I returned it and bought the Cannon Power Shot S3 IS. While at the store, I used the display models for the Sony and the Cannon that were next to each other. Taking the same shots of my children moving (distances, lighting) the Cannon shots came out great and the Sony were again blurry. I have not had any problems with the Cannon since, and glad I changed cameras.

I bought this camera after doing research on the Internet, but apparently I did not do enough. Although it is easy to use and takes beautiful pictures, after only several months of use the shutter button popped off the camera and it is not usable. I have now done more research on the Internet and see that this is a common problem. My husband and I are on a 3 month long vacation around the U.S. and now have no camera. I would never buy this camera again and strongly recommend that you don't either.
