Pros: Clear Picture, superb color, easy set-up... Cons: Sluggish movement of objects across screen - every brand seems to have issue.
I purchased this TV about 12 weeks ago.. so I am watching it for a while and giving you a bit of a seasoned reading on the unit. SONY and SAMSUNG seem to provide the best picture quality on the market. The 1080P Image is superb... clarity and color is ...
Pros: Crisp, bright and perfectly sized! 52" of excellent Video priced well and cheapening
Cons: Lacks settings flexiblity to make it look great on ALL sources. Terrible Sound
I'm going to do my absolute best to keep this review fair and balanced- not be a tyrade by an upset consumer, nor an over-flowery Ra-Ra hype-story... Sony's current Bravia LCD panel is a noticable improvement over prior generations, but still has a ways ...
Pros: Nice looking set. Clean line nice black finish. Cons: Horrible service. Picture panels go out frequently.
I purchased a Sony HD flat screen TV for Christmas 2007. In early August 2008 the black colors change to red and dark blue changed to pink/purple. I called Sony for service and I found out that they farm out their service to a company called Qualxserve. ...
Sony KDL-52W3000 52 inch LCD TV by zeropt99,Mar 17 '08
Pros: Picture quality, connectivity, features.
Cons: motion blur on fast moving scenes.
I purchased this television in February of 2008 from BJ's Wholesale club. It has a different model number there, but from what I see online it appears to be the exact same.
This television seems to have amazing color and backlighting compared to others on display at the store. I nearly purchased a 60 inch Sony rear projection for $800 less, but side by side the picture quality was no comparison. This TV is crisper, brighter, deeper colors (I like the black levels, but I'm not an expert by any means), and you have no glare whatsoever. I'm very impressed. HD quality is amazing, and SD quality is just fine. I find myself watching things on TV I normally wouldn't bother just because it's in HD and everything looks new again.
It has 3 HDMI inputs, and excellent connectivity. It has a PC input and plenty of component inputs. It's not too heavy either.
The only complaint I have is with the slight motion blur with fast moving scenes. I'm told even the higher end models with the 120 hz motion blur processing still struggle with this issue. Perhaps it's just an LCD thing.
Pros: weight, HD picture quality, price, product reliability, sound quality, remote control functions, Cons: Black or dark movies. Although better than my previous plasma screen.
Bought in January 08, at Fry electronics on sale for $2,299. Light weight easy to install with wall mount. Everything great except when watching dark movies, the black is poor quality pixel. HD is excellent & non HD is good. Overall 9 out 10. 10 high score.
I shopped for two weeks, checked out all the competitors in the San Gabriel Valley including "the king of TV" but FRY'S electronics had the best price. They do lack customer service if I was rating their service I would have to give them a very poor overall rating in service. That is to bad do to the amount of business this location does.
I am curious about other reviews about the Sony 52 W series and look forward to reading more opinions on this item.
Overrated picture and customer service by wagga01,Oct 10 '08
Pros: Nice big box with lot's of shinny stickers Cons: Product quality and functionality (slow) Rebate support Customer Service attitude.
Picture quality is fair, my Philips was better. Sony customer service in Australia is "ah, don't like it, talk to the Fair Trade Commission"... nice. I had 3200 customers located around the globe and if one of my employees had said 'to bad' to my customer even if we were wrong there would have been a termination.
The other 3 HDTV sets going in the rest of the house will not be SONY!
