by countess_eva, Feb 12 '07
Pros: Hilariously funny, lovable characters, well written, excellent story.
Cons: None.
Becky Bloomwood, lovable protagonist from Confessions of a Shopaholic, has once again returned in a fantastic new shopping adventure set in the glamorous world of Manhattan where the swank shops and undecipherable foreign currency lures the ever ...

Shopaholic Does it Again!

by jurgrace, Nov 26 '07
Pros: Fun reading, cute love story
Cons: Continuity Errors, need to learn British slang
After reading the first book in this "chick lit" series (Confessions of a Shopaholic), I immediately got my hands on this sequel, and have read it twice in the past week. I thought the first book was highly entertaining, and found this sequel to be even ...

Shopaholic History Repeats Itself

by goldmoon, Jan 27 '03
Pros: Funny, makes you want to shop.
Cons: Predictable, makes you want to shop.
Meet Becky Bloomwood. She's a 26-year old woman living in England and she's got a problem--she's a shopaholic (she's also not the brightest bulb in the lamp, but her shopping addiction is her biggest problem). We were introduced to Becky in...

Hi, My Name Is Carletta - And I'm A Recovering Shopaholic

by cletta1201, Mar 20 '02
Pros: Some semi-humorous moments.
Cons: Not enough of those moments.
Having read the first installment of this series (they are supposed to be a trilogy) – I eagerly anticipated the next book. Sadly enough, The Shopaholic Takes Manhattan is not as humorous as its predecessor Confessions Of A Shopaholic....

Shopaholic Abroad, aka Shopaholic Takes Manhattan: As Great as Confessions?

by SHeineman, Sep 23 '01
Pros: Funny, light reading. Likeable characters that I can relate to
Cons: Still seeing too much of myself in Becky.
Some of you may notice the release date of this book listed on the main page as being January 2002 and be wondering how on earth I could be reviewing it so early? Well, I'll tell ya. I was obsessed with the first book in this series, Confessions of...

Delicious and Dangerous

by rockyraqcoon, Mar 01 '02
Pros: You won't be disappointed by this follow-up. Not one bit!
Cons: There is not a third book in this series planned any time soon.
For those acquainted with Sophie Kinsella's first book about Becky Bloomwood, the title of this sequel "Shopaholic Takes Manhattan" may trigger a moment of excitement and fear and anticipation. Will Becky ever learn?- is the subject of this follow-up to...

A Great Sequel to Confessions of a Shopaholic

by stiney1, Nov 03 '02
Pros: smart, funny, well-written, not a disappointing sequel
Cons: I wish it was longer...
I read this book in only a few days, and it was an excellent sequel to its predecessor, Confessions of a Shopaholic. The author, Sophie Kinsella, is accurate in her descriptions and is always making me laugh. As a native New Yorker, when...

Shopaholic or New York Shopping Guide

by coolcales, Apr 26 '03
Pros: better than the first
Cons: again, not a con in sight
Better then the first, Shopaholic Takes Manhattan is a funny novel about Becky Bloomwood, a girl who seems to have everything but really has nothing at all. Becky in London, bad enough. Becky in Manhattan, 10 times worse. The dazzling window...

Becky strikes again...

by LuluB16, Feb 26 '02
Pros: *A great follow up to the first novel *Very funny
Cons: *You need to read the first book to understand certain parts of the second
"Shopaholic Takes Manhattan" is a wonderful follow up to "Confessions of a Shopaholic." This time, Becky deals with more pressing issues than just her out of control shopping and mounting debts (which she still must face), but with her reputation and...

Can't Get Enough of Shopaholic!!!

Pros: Just as witty and hilarious as the first!!!
Cons: NONE
I was so excited, as I walked through the isles at Barnes & Noble and came across this book - I nearly peed my pants!!! Just kidding. I had no doubt in my mind that this book would be anything less than enjoyable, I rushed home and read this in a single...

LOVED IT!!!

by muycaliente, Apr 12 '02
Pros: Wickedly humorous, utterly addictive.
Cons: Not *quite* as good as the first.
If you loved "Confessions of a Shopaholic" then I guarantee you'll love this one, too. I read the entire sequel in one night as I just couldn't put it down ...I'd set it down to eat dinner and sit there the entire time wondering HOW on EARTH Becky was...

Fun and Light Read
by _donnella,May 06 '04
Pros: Fun to read - lots of laugh out loud parts.
Cons: You want to scream at the main character to stop!
I love this series of books I just read Confessions of a Shopaholic and loved it. They're fun and light to read, when you have a lot going on it's a good book to just escape and have fun with.

My only complain is I'm personally not a shopaholic by any means so I found myself wanting to yell at the main character to slow down, but I think that's one of the reasons this book is so fun or was for me at least.

This is a great book to sit on the beach with and just enjoy.
