Pros: Tiny! Built in USB connector, card slot, no software required. Cons: Has a couple of firmware bugs to work out.
So, Sandisk seem to be developing a pretty good record of doing things right with their latest series of MP3 players, especially given their competition in the things-that-aren't-iPods department. The Express is the newest member of their Sansa family, ...
NOTE: This is an updated review Why did I Want an MP3 Player Probably unlike most others, my sole intention for an MP3 player was a replacement for my car stereo. For one reason or another I've always ended up with a vehicle lacking a ...
Pros: Good array of formats, PC and Mac compatible Cons: Poorly designed controls, bad sound quality, no wall charger
I've always liked Sansa players. Usually they pack incredible sound quality, a good number of fully functional features and options, and are simple to use. I was wholeheartedly disappointed in this shiny, mirrored rectangle that claims to be an mp3 ...
Pros: Low price
Great audio quality,navigation
Shuffle
MicroSD expansion
Easy to load music
OLED display
Cons: USB charge only.
Display washes out easily in bright light
Lanyard attaches to end cap
After reading several reviews I recently picked one of these up at Best Buy and so far I love it. My wife does, too and we fight over who gets to use it.. I may have to get another one. I wanted a small DAP and was originally interested in the ...
Pros: Low cost, large song capacity, clear FM radio, good audio recording. Cons: Volume controls suck when moving, display problems in bright sun.
I bought the SanDisk Sansa Express as I was looking for a small FM radio with decent sound, and hey I also got a very good MP3 player. Navigating through the menu's is quite easy and fairly intuitive. Just the volume controls on the side are a bit ...
Pros: Oh, there's too much. Cons: Absolutely NOTHING.
Okay, this thing is totally awesome. I got this gadget for Christmas, and I LOVE it! This, to me, is way more than an mp3 player. The only thing it doesn't have is a beverage dispenser. Here's what it's got: -Voice recorder. The quality on this is ...
Pros: small, FM radio, expandability w/micro SD card-if you don't do the firmware upgrade Cons: Sandisk support, buggy firmware upgrades, Sandisk support and Sandisk support
When I first bought this player I thought that it was great. I used it to work out and had no issues with it. Then I had to go and try to fix something that was not broken and broke it instead. I installed the software to update the firmware ...
Pros: Great Sound, very affordable, optional MicroSD card slot Cons: Badly programmed, FM tuner options are decent
The Sansa Express may seem very flashy and simple, but there are many pros and cons to the little device. To begin with, the sound is pretty awesome, though the headphones that come with it are not too great. There are many presets that come with the ...
I just purchased this player at Best Buy($59.99), sound quality is very good, radio gets very good reception and it's very easy to load and delete songs via Windows Media Player. I was so impressed ,I purchased one for my wife the day after I bought mine(can't beat the price!).
Great Product at a Great Price by dmcgonag,Apr 05 '07
Pros: Inexpensive, respectable memory for downloads yet expandable and extremely easy to set up and use. Cons: I didn't find any.
I bought myself the Sandisk Express for $59.95 at Best Buy (not to mention the $25 in Best Buy rewards that made the price even more attractive!) I was very impressed on how easy this was to connect to my laptop, not USB cord, it direct connects and instantly recognized when I put it in. It took very little time (about 1 hour) to copy my cd music into the mp3 player in WMA format, which takes up less space in memory. I downloaded about 175-185 songs. I than made use of my free trail to Best Buy Music Store that I got with the player to download more music so that I now have 210 songs on the player and still have room! I love how it does have a slot to expand the memory. The expand option, the ease of true 'plug and play', the direct USB connect, the radio and record features make this item more than worth purchasing. My daughter has an IPOD and believe me it was not as easy to setup and is no easier than using the SanDisk Express and MUCH cheaper!
Pros: everything Cons: headphones are kinda low end quality
This thing is great. I was looking to get a shuffle, but wanted a screen and some options instead of just plug and play. The direct connect USB is awesome and the option to use an SD card is great. Little did i know till i turned it on that it had a radio, a BIG plus. I bought 2 of them, one for me and the wife, and we havent even filled the 1gb limit yet and have 100+ songs so far. Also transfers data excellent and the battery life and charging is great.
Forget about it - THIS IS THE ONE GREAT PLAYER by rotorrocket,Apr 04 '07
Pros: Size, style, sound, options, easy to use Cons: can't think of one thing I would change about this player.
For the price this player by SanDisk raises the bar for micro MP3 Players. People who paid $80 for a Shuffle should feel a little bit silly. This player has a screen, FM radio, recorder, and expansion slot. All not found on the Shuffle that costs $20 more. Apple should be afraid, very afraid...
Pros: Price, Size, No Sync Cradle Cons: Display is dim in bright sunlight, fast forwarding and rewinding is slow
I purchased the Express so that I can listen to Podcasts and it worked out great. I had an issue with the first one that I bought and I had to send it back to Sandisk. I bought it the 2nd day after it arrived at Best Buy so I wasn't really upset that I had to send it back. The return process was easy and I promptly received my replacement. After this experience, I will definitely buy another Sandisk player in the future.
1GB? Not if it won't stay connected. by onebrightgator,Oct 19 '07
Pros: Small, sleek and easily expandable. Cons: USB charging, did not connect to computer
I bought this to use in my car with a FM transmitter, for traveling and just general use. I thought it would fit in great between my cheapo 128MB I use for working out and my larger sized 30GB. Initially I thought the USB charging would be great, but when traveling I don't always have access to a computer. The SD slot would be nice, as you could expand the capacity pretty easy and in a small amount of space. The controls and menus are pretty intuitive and easy to use. I connected it to my computer and let it charge, then I tried to load it. About halfway through a notification came up that it could not load anymore songs because it was no longer connected, but I hadn't touched it. I tried to disconnect it and reconnect it, delete and retry, even do and hard reset, all with no luck. I have never experienced this sort of problem with any other USB device, so it must be the mp3 player.
Pros: Great sound. Works great. Cons: A little tough to read the display while outdoors.
Love this thing. I rarely get excited about all the neat little toys out there but this one I love.
It has a great sleek look and it sounds good too. It has a built in USB plug so no worrying about where that little cable went. Just plug into your USB port. The 16 hr lithium battery gets charged that way do no need for a bulky charger either. It also doubles as thumb drive. I have a USB input on my car radio (it's a Kenwood car radio with USB input - that's another review but I love that too)and with the player off I plug it into my car radio and I control the music through the car radio controls. No trying to manipulate the little buttons on the player while driving.
Like I said the sound is great and the FM sound and reception is fantastic also.
It also has a voice recorder and you can record off of the FM radio too.
Bottom line. For 60 bucks it's a neat little toy. Would highly recommend it.
