Black metal/plastic seemed cheap compared to shiny metal cameras

I may have received a defective camera but here's my experience. Researched hard to find this value with 3.0" LCD, 10.1mp, 5x optical zoom and was hoping the 2AA batteries would last a while. I'm a big fan of reading consumer reviews such as this, but ...
Pros: At least I didn't pay $200 plus on this dog. Cons: I'd rather use an old-school Polariod if that tells you anything.
I have yet to get a picture out of this camera that wasn't blurred, and yes, I used the image stablizer function. The battery life stinks on this camera and as an added bonus, if your batteries go kaput, the lens doesn't retract before doing so. You'd think that a team of engineers could have figured that one out. This has turned out to be the most expensive camera I've ever bought because I'll have to get a new one just so I can get a decent shot. I feel rooked and would like my money back as I am pretty sure I was sold something that takes up room in my purse and eats batteries and not a camera.
