Great TV but Too many Issues- Not a Keeper by bearbis,Feb 07 '08
Pros: Good potential just not executed properly Cons: Poor, uninformed Samsung tech support
This TV has a great picture when it's working properly but Samsung has too many unresolved issues with these sets. I know I own one.
1) Picture Stutter
2) Motion blur with their Automotion system
3) Mini Blinds effect which looks like picture breakup with many horizontal lines everytime there is a quick scene change or fast motion. This is worst of all as it's constant.
Contacted Samsung technical support and they've been working on the first 2 issues for a while with no true fix yet and the worst issue (miniblinds effect) they DON'T EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE YET .
This set has great potential - but in my opinion, at this point, it's NOT a keeper . . . it's going back.
Samsung LMT5271 -- Outstanding HDTV by lonestar55,Jan 20 '08
Pros: Great picture quality. Outstanding value. Cons: None
This is the best TV that I've ever owned! Outstanding HD picture quality, and SD picture is comparable to the 40" Sony XBR Trinitron that we had been viewing. I've had the TV installed for a little over three weeks, and have had no problems. It's wall-mounted over our fireplace, and we love it! I have it connected to an OPPO up-converting DVD, and the picture is incredible -- hard to believe that blu-ray would be any better. Definitely pleased we got the 52"! Great TV!!
