Pros: nightlight, two receivers, when it worked it picked up my daughter's breathing Cons: too much static, picked up outside phone conversations, didn't always pick up my baby's cries
I put this baby monitor on my baby shower registry almost three years ago and it has turned out to be such a dud. In my pregnant state, I imagined my husband and I doing chores around and outside the house while our daughter slept snuggly in her crib. I ...

Pros: clear sound, little static, reasonable range, night light, portable receivers Cons: battery compartment not easily accessible, analog
I put this monitor in my registry because I was not looking to get a fancy overpriced baby monitor. I figured that most analog monitors would produce a certain amount of static regardless of price. Thus, I narrowed down my choices to the Safety 1st Safe ...

Pros: Very basic, pretty cheap. Cons: Epileptic fit inducing nightlight, battery useage, dismal reception.

Safety 1st Safe Glow Monitor- please don't buy
by cmhmom,Jan 28 '07
Pros: Cheap (not in a good way), nice night light (for a limited time) Cons: Cheap, Can't replace light when it burns out, awful reception.
I have the Safety 1st illuminated monitor and am very disappointed. The reception is awful so we used a different monitor but we enjoyed the 15-minute light from the Safety 1st monitor until... We have had the monitor for 2 years and the monitor's light is no longer working. The light cannot be replaced, what a waste! I will be in touch with the company tomorrow and I hope they will help out. The monitor has not been used for the entire 2 years (mostly because of the reception issue) so it should not have burnt out and if it did, fine, but let's replace it. So in essence, we bought an expensive night light which will be thrown away after 18 months or so. What a complete bummer:( Save your money, and buy something different.
