Pros: Don't feel much different from regular contacts after a few days Cons: Edges curl up, more expensive than normal contacts
I've always had slight astigmatism in one eye, but eye doctors had always told me that the small improvement in vision I'd get from astigmatism contacts wouldn't be worth the trouble. On my last visit, though, I was examined by a new doctor, who said ...

Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism- I cannot recommend. Complaint
by lowellbrakey,Jun 03 '08
Pros: Do go in very easy and start out very comfortable Cons: Downhill from insertion and I am reading 100's of bad reports.
Complaint Problem
Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism- I cannot recommend.
I have worn contacts for over 20 years. Never had a problem.
These start out very well. They go in well and remain comfortable for about 7 days. After seven days they seem to go into a self destruct mode. I have been thru about 4 sets already in four weeks.
I can't be sure but they seem to have a built in self destruct timer in them.
I would love to go back to my old brand contacts by the same company but they have stopped making them.
At this rate, they are too costly to keep using.
At this time, I believe they are a magnet for protein deposits and that is why Acuvue is coming out with a new upgrade.
