Pros: A lot of automatic presets, no noise election, bakes very well Cons: Toasting is horrendous, cheaply made, dangerous turntable
My parents just recently downsized and one of the things that they needed at the new house was a microwave. With less room than what they had before, they most definitely were looking for a microwave that had multiple capabilities. Hence, their joy at ...
Pros: Attractive design and finish, high build quality, convenient controls, replaces multiple appliances Cons: Doesn't really toast, LCD is hard to read, beeper could be louder, small cooking chamber
I was skeptical that this device could really live up to its promise to toast, microwave, and bake, but for $100 from Wal-Mart with a return guarantee, what did I have to lose? After using it for a couple of weeks, I've decided to keep it and get rid ...
Pros: looks nice, warms soup well Cons: hard to clean, won't even pop popcorn
I purchased the Warm and Toasty upon moving into a small apartment in April 2004 (it's April 2005 now). It was a new product and I thought the whole concept was very cool! It is... Unfortunately, the execution is cool as well. This machine will not even ...
Pros: Some pre-set controls, nice-looking, can potentially replace three different appliances. Cons: Weak toasting capabilities, low power microwave, potential fire hazard!
I happily bought this combination microwave, toaster, baker, broiler about six months ago. My kitchen space is a little limited, so I was pretty excited with the prospect of freeing up space by having three appliances combined into one. I had been ...
Pros: Controls seem to be easy to use and to learn how to use. Cons: low wattage microwave, bad at toasting or grilling
Bought as on clearance sale at Wal-Mart and can see why they wanted to get rid of it. Would have done better for the same amount of money spent to get separate microwave and toaster oven. As a toaster it was terrible as it took 7 min to toast bread and then it came out all dried out but would make great croutons or bread crumbs. As a grill was almost as bad when trying to grill a hot dog takes way too long. LCD display is hard to read without good lighting on in the room, would have been better if it had lighted display. Turntable doesn't seem very secure at all. Metalic finish shows smudges easily. Not sure why the need for glass pie plate to pop microwave popcorn. Haven't tried baking anything yet.
Sharp R-55TS Toaster Over by myperspectiv,Nov 11 '06
Pros: Stylish Stainless Design, all in one concept, delivers on all functions Cons: None
This unit caught my eye because it is stylish, compact, toasts/bakes/microwaves/grills all in one! I've had it for a year and it delivers. I can make anything in this - even a great tuna melt AND popcorn - those who have complaints DID NOT read the instructions. There are popcorn popping instructions in the manual and I had the same experience as other reviews BEFORE I pulled out the manual and read how to do it correctly.
As for the manual, I still have to refer back to it on occasion because I don't use all the features on a regular basis. But the instructions are very clear and easy to follow for all features. If you follow the instructions you will love this appliance - I do! And it looks great on the counter and saves space.
Like all kitchen appliances, you should clean it when you make a mess. It is easy to clean when you pick up after yourself. I only has to scrub it once when my husband made a mess and left it there. Even then it cleaned up fine.
Would I recommend buying this? by clevie,Aug 05 '04
Pros: Space saving. Decent job on toasting and grilling. Cons: Too small. Low-power microwave. Timer dial is a pain. Unlighted clock.
Well, probably not. I bought it because I was enticed by the space-saving aspect of multiple-appliances-in-one. I haven't tried the baking aspect yet, but can report on the toasting, grilling, and microwave components. Toasting: unlike some of the other reviewers, I had perfect toasting results. I'd give it 5 stars for this. Grilling: this turned out better than I expected. I grilled some pork chops, and they were just fine. 3 1/2 stars. Not perfect, but definitely acceptable. Microwave: forget it. It's too low-powered. If you are cooking frozen convenience foods, you will need to almost double the recommended time.
The clock is not lighted, and is difficult to read from a distance. And the dial for the timer is a pain. Or perhaps I've just gotten too used to a push-button world! And, yes, I wanted something that was space-saving, but this microwave is just too darned small.
Pros: Compact and Stainless Steel Cons: Everything else
Don't let the paid reviewers sway your opinion in wasting you money on this. Yes, it's a combo so you have more counter space. Yes, you can make popcorn and anything else a microwave or toaster oven will cook. But would you want an entire bag of popcorn popped, or perhaps toasted bread in less than 10 minutes? If so, don't buy this abomination. Any all-in-one product is never as good as a single use one. If you're FORCED to buy a combo, well that is obviously understandable. But if you have a choice, stick with buying both. There's a reason only a handful of combo microwave/toaster ovens are made by only by a couple companies. It's not worth the cost of all those returns.
Pros: Compact, good looking and works great. Cons: I could not find any real complaints.
I was purchasing an RV with the Warm & Toasty installed. After reading the reviews I was very disheartened. After taking delivery and using the Microwave, Toaster & Oven I am extremely happy with the unit. I tried to follow the instructions and everything worked as planned. Beautiful toast, perfectly popped pop corn, everything we tried worked out super. I have no complaints.
I like it! Perfect size for dorms. by boandjill,Jun 05 '05
Pros: Microwaves and bakes! Cons: Small interior. Not big enough for families; but great size for a dorm room.
I think this is a nice little combo unit. It serves as a microwave and "toaster" oven (even though I wouldn't try to toast bread in it). With this unit, you're not stuck just microwaving, you can bake small items, too. A full size pizza will not fit in this unit.
Once you get used to baking things, you must remember to avoid using metal when microwaving...it's easy to forget.
Pros: Reliable, nice looking, powerful, inexpensive Cons: Toasting is marginal
I bought this microwave for my mom to replace one that had similar features, microwave, bake and toast. The reviews were mixed so I was a bit hesitant.
We are totally satisfied! Microwave power is great..heating and cooking is excellent. The turntable is fine...I highly recommend this item. Beautiful exterior, easy to clean and the power to do what it has to....Toasting is the only thing that I consider marginal...as other reviews have expressed.
Sharp R-55TS Microwave AND TOASTER Oven by yeti_arc,Jun 03 '04
Pros: Compact Unit with TOASTER and Microwave features. Good Toast w/ reflective surface technique. Cons: None so far!
Well, my fiance and I bought this compact appliance in hopes to "kill a few birds with one stone" since we just bought a Townhouse with a smallish kitchen. I didn't even get to check other reviewers until AFTER we bought the unit. So, I was taken a back when I saw the other reviews - especially the Toaster feature. This Sharp was, afterall, going to be used regularly.
I did what I normally wouldn't do: I read the manual. For good toasting technique, remove the turntable. The turntable rotating mechanism has a reflective surface. I used this for my toasting applications. Guess what? perfect Golden Brown bagels! I am completely satisfied with this as a Toaster. Ditto for Microwave. I haven't tried the "grill" and "bake" features.
I am very happy With Warm & Toasty by patricia276,Dec 28 '04
Pros: It bakes, grills, microwaves, and toasts. Cons: The toaster is the not the greatest but sufficient
I was a bit skeptical and came to epinions for reviews. The reviews were mixed so I decided to go ahead and try the Warm and Toasty.
I bought this to save space in my kitchen.
So far I have Grilled fish, Baked sweet potatoes, chocolate chip cookies, an apple tart(for 60 Min).
The Micro wave works fine.
The toaster is not the best, but passable. I have toasted bagels. I read that it takes a long time but I just put it in and came back to get it. I was not in a hurry.
I think for a couple or single person this is a great appliance.
