Pros: Compact size, saves water and energy, looks good Cons: Wash cycle takes a long time
Due to limited space in my home for a washer and dryer, I was on the market for a compact size and stackable washer/dryer combo. The Maytag MAH2400A seemed to be the perfect sized front loading washer for me measuring 23 1/2" wide, 24" deep and 33 1/4" ...
Pros: gets clothes super clean; uses less electricity, water, and soap; compact footprint with great capacity Cons: none serious - spin is a bit loud and cycle time is a bit long
We got this washer for our apartment, to replace a compact top-loader by Kenmore. I was wary of getting a front-loader because I had never had one before. It was a wonderful decision. We have had it for three months and have used it at least 100 ...
Pros: Fantastic cleaning machine, Quiet and stays in one place. And has Quick cycle. Cons: None what so ever!!!!!!!!!!!.
Having owned what i thought was the top front loader when they first appeared on the market was the new Frigidaire. It was an amazing machine, capacity wise and energy wise was truly amazing. But since being diagnosed with rheuimotoid arth. It ...
Pros: Overall quality, compact size, fine cleaning performance Cons: Sensitivity to over sudsing when washing towels.
I had to purchase a compact washer due to space problems in my laundry room which is really just a pass-through to the garage. I wanted to stack the washer and dryer to allow for a shelving unit next to it for storage. This unit with it's companion dryer ...
Pros: QUIET, delayed start, good looking, stainless steel drum, compact, energy efficient Cons: doesn't seem to get clothes clean!
The jury's still out on this one!! I bought this washer and matching stackable dryer just a short time ago and have only done 5-6 loads so far. I needed something to fit into a 24" space in my small kitchen...and this unit is certainly way better looking ...
Pros: This particular model looks nice, doesn't take up too much room, and has several options. Cons: poor customer service, the washing machine has a design flaw: no filter on water pump
Our Maytag / Sears experience has been a night mare. If you own a Maytag product purchased at Sears, your warranty will *only* be covered by Sears. Sears has clearly told me "if you have your machine repaired by *anyone* other than a Sears technician ...
Pros: NONE! NONE! NONE! Cons: $700 washer and I still do my laundry out on town!
If I don't keep an eye on it...it'll walk right out of the laundry room! Have you seen those bumper stickers..."I heart jet noise"...you better if you get this machine. Next...if you are waiting for you laundry to get done...you'd better have a few hours ...
Pros: Small & light-easy to return to the store. Cons: Complete waste of time/ money. Useless!
I can only hope that my story is not run of the mill. Perhaps it was damaged in route some how, or the QC dept was on vacation when they built mine. I got it because they looked high tech and I liked the size and the fact I could stack the dryer for even ...
Pros: Very efficient, compact size, yet holds a lot of clothes and gets them clean. Cons: Dryer door reverses, but washer door doesn't. Sometimes makes some funky noises.
I purchased this pair for space reasons also, and my initial concern was that I'd have to use smaller loads. Much to my surprise, I could fit almost as much in it as my previous large washer. In fact, with both the washer and dryer, if I just throw in ...
Pros: size and I was happy with how it performed Cons: sucks up change and Maytag service
Our machine, purchased from the Home Depot, went into service early Feb of 2005. In Jan or 2006 the machine would not drain so we called Maytag service. Unfortunately since we had purchased the machine in Dec of 2004 we had to pay for the visit. Nothing ...
Second repair in one year by shannonjeos,Sep 22 '07
Pros: Cleans well when it works. Cons: Two expensive repairs in eleven months.
This machine was in place when I bought my condo. I have used it nearly daily for my family of four. It worked well, when it worked. The hot water setting got my son's white school shirts very white.
However, in the eleven months since I bought our home, the machine has broken down twice. The second time it gave an 3E error. The repair man said that that the diagnostics, parts and repair would cost above $300. That combined with the cost of the first repair almost equals the cost of the machine. I have decided to skip repairing it and replace it with a more reliable machine.
Not only would I not buy this machine again, I would not buy this brand again. Also, I think I will purchase an extended warranty in the future for the major appliances that are not covered in the homeowner's warranty.
Pros: None Cons: Leaks from dispenser, sea and gaskets, pump design
Read every other bad review, they are true. It leaks, the the pump traps EVERYTHING then burns out, it has flooded my basement more times than I can count! I am just having mine replaced because a valve has been back-ordered for >60 days. (extended warranty from the store where it was purchased). Maytag has driven their name into the ground. As I say in the title, AVOID!
Pros: Other than the water on the floor, it does work well. Nice and quite. Cons: What can I say, IT LEAKS.
Well it looked great at the store. The first load of wash at home was great. Then the leaking started. Once from the door and then always from the detergent drawer.[Leaks inside and drains out the bottom corner]. So the store quickly sends a replacement[after I report it and ask about the class action law suites in U.S. and Canada re:Neptune problems] Well this one leaks also. I will be returning it and asking for my money back. If I don't get my money...law suite?
Pros: None. Cons: No filter breaks pump frequently. Size requires multiple wash loads so not energy efficient.
I'm with Jimmy, we bought this machine for its size and energy efficiency. But it has been one continuous nightmare. In one year, we have had to get the machine fixed four times by a technician. It does not drain well, leaving clothes wet and unclean. We have spent countless hours on the phone with Maytag - who basically say too bad, nothing we can do. Even the technician told us it's a bad machine. He said the computer board is too sensitive and if it breaks your out three hundred bucks to get it fixed.
Pros: nice size and looks good Cons: Poor quality, not durable, long wash cycles needed in order to get clothes clean.
I purchased the machine because of its size and I love the look. Maytag should remove their ads that their repairman never gets called. I've had my machine 2 years and have had to call the Maytag Repairman twice. Cannot select hot water. Called the repairman. To repair my 2 year-old machine: Main control $153, Central Board $471, cost of doing laundry with a Maytag $1,400 in 24 months. Replacement and installation costs approx $672 (same as the original price of the washer).
This compact, high-efficiency washer from market leader Maytag is perfect for undercounter or stacked installation, fitting in small spaces so you can...More at AJ Madison
