I have lived in Richmond all my life. The Richmond Times-Dispatch is what I wake up and read every morning. Like any city newspaper they cover nationwide news stories as well as metro news. The paper is divided up into sections as are all newspapers....

Pros: Great, unbiased reporting
Cons: Occasional stories that may offend a large group of people

The Richmond Times-Dispatch has been the newspaper I have grown up with and the only daily newspaper that I am currently subscribed to. I think it does a good job of stating the facts in an unbiased and professional fashion, which can be hard to come by...

Pros: Well laid out, relatively cheap, good Weekend section
Cons: Hopelessly right-wing (although they'll throw in a Molly Ivins column for comic relief)

Anyone who believes that all newspapers take a hard turn to the left has never read the Richmond Times-Dispatch. It's almost frighteningly right-wing, with op-ed pieces that spit out the word "liberal" as scathingly as a Rush Limbaugh ditto-head would....

Pros: Excellent local coverage, good comics and sports
Cons: Conservative editorial slant to the point of paranoia
