A Little Guide....

by splace, Dec 09 '00
Pros: good coverage
Cons: can be heavy at times
The Newark Star Ledger ("Newspaper") costs $15.40 month in Iselin, New Jersey. It can be a very informative newspaper, depends on what information you are looking for. At time, it can also be used for weight lifting. (it gets very heavy!)...

Star Ledger Review

by smd163, Dec 31 '99
Pros: Sports section
Cons: none
I use to live in New Jersey, and I enjoyed reading the Star Ledger while I lived there, but I never knew how good of a paper it was till I moved away. I now live in Charlotte, NC, and anyone who has probably read the paper down here, knows that the paper...

NJ's Paper

by crystalc, Dec 12 '99
Pros: Most thorough reporting
Cons: Can only get it in Jersey!
Well, I may be partial but I love the Newark Star-Ledger newspaper. I have lived in Newark my entire life and the Star-Ledger has been here from the start. What I like about the paper is that it is diverse, it is well circulated with a daily...

A GREAT BUY FOR NJ RESIDENTS

by Yanknicks00, May 24 '00
Pros: Great Pictures and Well-Written Articles
Cons: None
In the spring of 1998, my family and I started to get the Star Ledger delivered to our home. It had originally been referred to me by a close friend who lives in New Jersey as well. As I first critiqued the news articles and photographs, I felt as if...

Long time favorite

by pitzy, May 17 '00
Pros: Awesome sports section
Cons: Sunday paper a bit cumbersome
As a long time reader and former paper boy for the Star Ledger, it's hard not to be biased about New Jersey's most popular daily newspaper.

Operating in the shadows of New York City's abundantly more circulated New York Times, Daily News and...

One of the Best Things about Newark

by dbirchall, Mar 19 '00
Pros: A big-city paper with good New Jersey coverage
Cons: None I can think of.
To the outside world, New Jersey sometimes seems like little more than the convergence of New York's suburbs and Philadelphia's suburbs, with a turnpike connecting the two. For many residents, "the big city" - center of work, entertainment,...

Star Ledger- not so stellar.

by snag07, Sep 13 '00
Pros: the only game in town for 2 million folks
Cons: weak reporting and too much advertising
I've lived in Philadelphia(The Inquirer) Norfolk VA(The Virginian Pilot) and a few other places more briefly. Regret to advise anybody who cares that for a large size paper, The Star Ledger is sadly lacking. Very little in house writing(except the...

The only paper you need

by jadziadax, Apr 27 '00
Pros: packed full of everything you could ever want in a paper
Cons: none
I used to get the Asbury Park Press, the Star Ledger, and the New York Times every Sunday morning when I was looking for a job in education. The only paper that showed me what was really out there was the Ledger.

Now, even though I have been...

Star-Ledger

by garcialo, Jan 21 '00
Pros: Local coverage
Cons: International news
Having lived in New Jersey all my life, the Star-Ledger is the newspaper I turn to for accurate and reliable information on local, New Jersey, and national news. Their coverage of local sports is particularly strong, and their rankings of high school...

Great source of coupons

by zongie, Jul 07 '01
Pros: Major stores advertise
Cons: Local coverage is not good
We have cut back our purchase of the Star Ledger to Sundays only. There is far more detail and information watching the daily, evening, local, New York television stations.
Our area of the state gets very little coverage in the Ledger. When it does...

Star Ledger Electronic Delivery
by joaquimo,Nov 23 '04
Pros: Excellent coverage, up to date sports, excellent high school sports coverage.
Cons: None.
The Star-Ledger was already a wonderful newspaper and I missed it when I moved to Florida. But to my delight, they now have an electronic version of the newspaper available online. It looks exactly like the printed newspaper. (http://ed.starledger.com) Thumbs up to the Star-Ledger for producing such a wonderful resource

New Jersey's Best Newspaper
by debng,May 04 '04
Pros: Good writing, good layout, good reading.
Cons: None
There's nothing better than reading the morning paper while drinking a nice hot cup of coffee. The Star Ledger is the perfect morning coffee kind of newspaper. The layout is easy to navigate (and even comes with a map if you're lost)and the writers are some of the best. The Sunday paper has something for everyone, and arrives at the edge of my driveway by 7:00 am. In fact, I've never had a problem with delivery. Probably the best newspaper New Jersey has to offer.
