So they wanted me to review them. Will do. I just bought my car, and I'm happy :)
I found Automotive.com from a contest they were running on Facebook that my best friend signed up for. Long story short, they got me on their website somehow (Yay for social media business!) and I ended up researching a car that I've been looking at lately, a new BMW 328 coupe with X-drive.
I also ended up buying this car through them (it's an absolute BEAUTY by the way), and best yet I saved about $2,000! I've already gotten a quote previously from a dealer and it was okay at the time (so I thought!), but this online process was much simpler and better!
Automotive.com also had best reviews of the new 3-series in my opinion, and they're really in tune with what people are actually looking for when in the process of browsing/selecting/buying a car and they don't just talk about zero-to sixty-times and other useless tidbits of information that I will never worry about in real life. Looking at you, Car and Driver and Edmunds.
So long story short, I went through the process of inquiring about the best available price in my area, which is through Automotive.com's "Dealer Quotes" section. I selected my car and options from the dropdown menus, submitted my email and info, filled out the form and the whole bit and then... Nothing.
I wasn't sure if I broke something on the site or clicked on the wrong thing, but I ended up never seeing any sort of "success we're looking for your car" or similar message. Nothing. I even checked my email and didn't receive a message.
Essentially I was like "oh well", and forgot about it... Worse things have happened than not recieving a free service :)
Come next day however, and the nicest gentlemen named Charlie calls me at 9:30 from the local BMW dealer, and we chat! (Oh and I also did receive an email from him that same morning with 2 price quotes for the exact color and interior I wanted) Well we go over these 2 quotes and discuss what he can do for me, and sure enough the price he quoted me on the phone (without even negotiating a single cent) was cheaper by almost two thousand than what I previously got from another dealer I visited!
I ended up not buying either of the cars that he previously selected for me (I wanted black-on-black leather interior with cold weather package), and my car was a bit more expensive but it was still the $2k cheaper than the exact same car I looked at earlier!
I didn't buy my car FROM Automotive.com, but they sure helped me TO get it. I've been looking at a few sites like this since I bought my car just out of curiosity, and it looks like theres other sites out there that broker/bargain your car sale, but I don't have experience with any of those and can only recommend Automotive.com. My experience was great, and this online car buying stuff is not something to overlook!
