I leased a brand new 2003 Beetle 4 years ago. It was as cute as can be, bright yellow. I thought it was going to be a great car. Wrong. From the beginning, I had problems with the power windows. Especially on the driver's side. If you wanted it up, it went down, if you wanted it down, it went up. In cold weather, the driver's window would slowly roll down just a bit, and then freeze up. I would have to take my hands and force the window to roll back up. That was if I was lucky. Try this in line at a car wash. Not good. Also, in the winter, the windows would not roll down at all at times. Not good in a drive through. I took the car in at least 5-6 times and they never could fix the problem and even had the audacity to tell me that most people take their vehicles in for routine lubrication of the windows. Right, hello? I also had a glitch in the instrument panel that was very irritating and that took several trips to the dealer to finally fix. The warning lights all came on and there was nothing that could be found wrong with the car. Check engine, oil light, you name it. It was finally determined some months later that it was a faulty sensor. My headlights also burned out twice and they are very pricey to fix. The stereo was horrible, who can find cassette tapes in this day and age? I guess the only good thing I can say about the car was it was good on gas and I loved the heated seats. I was glad to be done with this car, by far.
