Well, pun intended, I got the royal 'run-around' when I ordered New Balance Running shoes. They were advertised as 'in-stock'. I decided to pay by personal check. What a nightmare! They have a 10-business day waiting time on clearing checks, which exceeds the U.S. Federal Bank regulation Code of 6-business days for nonlocal checks! Then they tell me the item is on back-order and cannot give me an approximate date for shipping. So, I go online, and they're still offering the same shoe, and it's "in stock"!! They informed me on 6/9/03 they had received and deposited my check, so legally, they should ship out the shoes on 6/17/03, right?? No, not by their rules...!! I finally got ticked off and just cancelled the order. I wasted a lot of time and aggravation writing back and forth via e-mail, because if you call the 800# on their website, 1-800-800-0800, you'll get a recording that tells you to pay $9.50 if you need to speak to a customer rep.! Did you ever??? And if I don't want to pay, then e-mailing is free. Thanks a lot for nothing.. I will send this incident on to BBB, consumer affairs, Consumer Reports, and whomever you can recommend.
