Pros: Beautiful Styling, Smooth Ride, Great Gas Mileage Cons: No cup holders, no fold down rear seat and no traditional glovebox The Bottom Line: Buy it, use it and plan on keeping it as a family heirloom. They are hard to find, but if you find one in good condition they will last forever.
This car is absolutely perfect. It looks great, rides incredibly smooth, gives 35 MPG and goes about 700 miles between fueling stations.
In town Driving: Smooth ride that absorbs even the most annoying potholes or speed bumps. Incredibly...

Pros: Great ride, quiet interior, strong and clean burning engine. Cons: Fantastic engineering makes aftermarket equipment installation a little difficult The Bottom Line: If you find one in good condition - look it over and buy it. You won't be disappointed.
I read that Consumer's Reports had rated only one Mercedes a "Best Buy" - Yep! It was the 1995 E-Class. In my opinion I wanted only the best engine in my 95 - the slow-sipping diesel (27 city - 35 highway) powerplant. After a lot of internet searching I ...

Pros: Looks, reliability, mileage, run to drive. Cons: None, except the highway patrol seems to look for me.
Have had a BMW and another Mercedes.
Bought it because I loved the way it looked and drove.
After 8 months, I still love to drive it. It's a little anemic around town, but on the highway, you would think it was supercharged. (Have...

Pros: Solid, great performance, quiet Cons: Styling
I bought my E320 4dr sedan in the Summer of 98 used. I was looking for quality, reliability and performance in one and I came to buy the E320. Although the styling is the old boxy Mercedes look, there is nothing boxy about the performance. The...

Pros: Good looks: S-Class look-alike in a smaller package Cons: Non-German-like feel for the price
Current C-Class billboard ads present the following idea:
"Look like a million, but pay around $34K."
America's 'Baby Benz' is undoubtedly classy and sassy. The C-Class can make its driver feel like they're stepping into and...

Pros: -Solid, smooth -Styling -Can go 200K miles if maintained -The last of the reliable E-Series Cons: -Oil leaks -Electrical gremlins -Less-than-lux interior -AM radio reception -No cupholders The Bottom Line: The E320 Cabriolet is a fun droptop that looks great and will seat four. Just be prepared for high maintenance costs.
I have an 1995 E320 convertible with 110K on the odo. It's a lot of fun and is very solid and smooth. The six-cylinder engine gets decent gas mileage and is strong at cruising speeds while not exactly a tire-burner at stop signs. It's more of a ...

Pros: Peppy, fun, smooth driving car Cons: Electrical Engine Harness Manufacturer Defects The Bottom Line: Know if the electrical engine harness was replaced - it's costly and repair records should show payment of more than $1,000 to get parts and labor!
I purchased my C-280 three years ago (2002)and got a good deal...thankfully it was a good deal...what I didn't know when I purchased the car was that all MB cars of that year had problems with their electrical engine harness - over time it decays, ...

Pros: wonderful car to drive. Cons: he Head Gasket and wiring harness issues has been far to much to bear!!!!
My C280 is my forth Benz and will be my last. I guess 1 out of 4 Ant bad!!!! I have moved to BMW. The Head Gasket and wiring harness issues has been far to much to bear!!!! I love the car and the way it handled but never again. The intermittent problems with the defective wiring harness before it finally shorted and blew all the electronics was unbelievable; the gages would just stop working, the car would not start at random times, the car would just quit at a light. Think long and hard about this car, and if you do buy one!!!!!!!!! Make sure the Wiring Harness and head gasket has been replaced, if not run run run.

Pros: Doesn't look as old as it is, it turns heads when you drive by. Cons: It doesn't have a CD player, The trunk can only be opened from the outside
At 17 I needed a car to drive to school and back. At first I wanted a truck (Ford). But soon found a nice couple selling their Mercedes. After seeing reviews that the ford f series cab buckles in crashes, we abandoned the idea of the truck and took a closer look at the Mercedes as a safer car. I was after the car for the looks but my parents were looking for a reliable car that wouldn't break down on my in the next few years or crumple in a crash. The S class seemed a bit much for a teenager, and the c class (c is for "children") seemed like a nice compromise. From the front, it can fool people into thinking it is an S class.
We've only had the car for about a month but so far it has been very nice. On the streets it seems a little sluggish but on the freeway you hit 80 before you know it. I love that fact that people look at it and can't really tell how old it is and my friends think my black Mercedes is super cute too!

Pros: Classy looking, good gas mileage Cons: Electrical wiring harness will deteriorate, need replacement IF you don't first have an engine fire
For such a quality manufacturer, this car is a sponge on wheels for repairs. After buying the 1995 C-280 I learned that all MB cars manufactured between 1992-1995 had a wiring harness problem. Cost to repair? In the neighborhood of $2,000 and MB pretends they don't know they have a problem!

My first love

Pros: Mileage, acceleration, easy to park, cute, trunk space, safety Cons: Repair and maintenance costs, small backseat, the leather seats harden and "plastify"
This was my first car, and I fell completely in love with it very quickly. The car gets awesome mileage and has really good pickup (especially considering how old it is.) Mine was in really good shape and it still looks good. It is a durable car (I was in two fender benders and only my paint got scratched.) This car is great for someone who is starting out driving, but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who does a ton of driving or wants a car that will last forever because of age and the repair costs. My family has spent around 4000 dollars on repairs and maintenance since I got the car (4 years ago.) Sadly this car is prone to the typical faults of Mercedes cars (things breaking, expensive upkeep, premium gas.)In spite of all this its still a great car: fun to drive, cute, nice handling and its easy to park (even in a city like downtown Annapolis.) I was sad to have to part with this car, but I am sure that it will be a great car for my sister. My family has certainly put this car to good use.
