Pros: Excellent gameplay, tons of humor Cons: Way too short
My husband and I recently played through Sly Cooper and I liked it a lot even though I had never heard of the game before renting it. I had this review almost written for a long time but I never got around to putting it up.
Pros: Virtually every aspect is done exceedingly well. Cons: Kind of short.
Last year, I took a risk on a little known Sony PlayStation2 title called ICO. In retrospect, it was probably some of the best gaming dollars I spent the entire year. Though rather short and simplistic, every implemented detail of ICO exuded polish and...
Pros: Old-school platform game meets 3D graphics and works well Cons: Ends much too quickly, can be frustrating early on
It's no real secret that Sony's been searching for a mascot for the PlayStation 2 for quite a while. Crash Bandicoot filled that role on the PlayStation's last incarnation, but with Crash's expansion to all of the current platforms (added to the fact...
Pros: it's a great solid platformer Cons: once it's done it's done.
I got Sly Cooper and the Thievious Raccoonus when I saw it in the bargain bin at Wal-Mart. I decided to buy it because I heard it was supposed to be a good platformer. So are Crash and Spyro and while there not bad games there not great either. But when ...
Pros: Beautiful cel-shaded characters, inventive storyline, likable characters. Cons: The mini-games are worthless, play is a little short.
INTRO or, A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MASTER THIEF
Today I have to, sadly, take Sly Cooper and the Thievious Racoonus back to the video store. It makes me a little misty eyed to have to say goodbye to the little fellow, we've had...
Pros: Novel story line and slick animated style Cons: Short. Really Short. Too short about 9 hours
Sly Cooper and The Thievious Raccoonus was one of two games from Sony Computer Entertainment America that completely blindsided us at E3 (Ratchet & Clank being the other). The single level on display at their booth was classy, slick and very fun to just...
Pros: Gorgeous colourful graphics, classic gameplay, a gripping CHARM to it Cons: ZERO originality, mini-games sometimes annoying
Remember Crash Bandicoot? The, ahem, 'lovable' furry bandicoot that clumsily managed to save the world in his series of 3D platforming, simultaeneously almost becoming the much-needed 'mascot' for the PSOne? He was set to become the new Sonic -...
Pros: Great gameplay, nice graphics. Cons: It's a platformer. A little too easy. Some control glitches.
Sly Cooper is the main character in this 3D platformer game. He's a toon-rendered fox, and he's you. Or you're him. Either way, it's played in third-person perspective - ie. the camera follows you around so you can always see yourself on-screen. The...
Pros: beautiful environment and animation. Great sound and graphics. cool moves and addictive gameplay. Great minigames! Cons: wish it was longer
Best run and jump game ever.
You will have such a good time playing this great PS2 game that you may explode! You need to try this one! You play Sly Cooper, a raccoon master thief who must recover the lost pages of his family heirloom, the...
Sly Cooper is a sweet deal by gothhenge,Dec 19 '03
Pros: Great graphics and sound, slick moves, great platform action Cons: It can be quite frustrating at times
I just picked up this game recently, and I have to say, it rocks! Now that it's a "Greatest Hits" title and costs under $20 it's an especially good bargain, a great stocking stuffer for any old-school gamer.
It has the look and feel of a cartoon, which young ones will like, and it is challenging enough to provide many hours of game play for adults as well. It can be frustrating, as some levels are quite difficult, but it's rewarding nonetheless. My wife even enjoys watching me play this one :) It's a really cute game, definitely the best PS2 platformer I have played. Fans of Super Mario Sunshine will especially enjoy this one.
