Pros: a new chapter in the story, some very funny moments, great cast (cute kids!) Cons: none
Four years after the hit television show Sex And The City ended its run, the theatrical release has finally made its way to theaters. As soon as the show ended, fans were clamouring for information about a possible film, but it never seemed like ...
Pros: Great continuation of beloved characters Cons: None! Screw the critics!
I was absolutely excited to go and see Sex in the City this past weekend. I couldnt wait to hang with my girls and see whats happened over the past few years. I cherish each episode of HBOs Sex in the City and I ...
Pros: Same great cast of characters; good plot and character development Cons: somewhat long at 2 hours 15 minutes
I can't recall ever seeing a movie on its opening day, but when my husband naively suggested that we go see Sex and the City on its opening night, I jumped at the chance. While I didn't watch the HBO series during its initial run, I've been ...
Pros: Anticipation factor; Fun to see the gals together again Cons: Shallow; Slow moments; Excessive shock value; Lack of development of characters
Making a movie based on four gal pals from New York City who like to have frank and open discussions about sex would seem like something that would appeal to men as well as women. After all, many men wish their women would open up about their sexuality ...
Pros: Great acting, writing, fashion, music-a film full of laughter Cons: None unless brief nudity offends you
I had a wild experience tonight. I went to the midnight sneak preview of "Sex In The City." Years ago, my daughter had gotten me hooked on the HBO show that featured humor, sex, beautiful women and some drama. The "wild" part tonight occurred because ...
Pros: Sarah Jessica Parker, Big, NYC. Cons: Not as good as the series.
Light summer reading? Never indulge. But, I'm more than happy to indulge in the movie equivalent. Sex and the City movie fits that bill. Chick flick (ick, did I write that? I hate that label!) set in NYC, picking up on the 4 women's lives it left behind ...
Pros: I enjoyed the characters, mostly, and there was a happy ending Cons: a little long, a little contrived, a lot materialistic
I didnt watch the cable series, Sex and the City when it first came out. The story about 4 30-ish female friends who wear their hearts on their sleeves they navigate life in the big city, started to grow on me as I watched episodes. First, ...
Like so many husbands, I was subjected to watching the new movie version of Sex and the City with my wife. I actually watched a few episodes of the show on HBO and found it mildly entertaining, so I figured the movie would at least be ...
Pros: I guess I laughed once or twice. Cons: Everything conceivable.
Don't worry darlings, there are no spoilers. Before I get into this review I’m just going to come out and say it. I hated the movie. Completely, flat out, hated it. Looking around at other reviews I can see that while I’m not alone I am in the ...
Pros: performances of Cynthia Nixon and Sarah Jessica Parker Cons: Story sags in the middle, stiff performances of Chris Noth and Jennifer Hudson
Excited doesn't even begin to describe my feelings toward Sex and the City: The Movie being released. While I wasn't the first one in line at a midnight showing I ended up going on the opening weekend and had a great experience with other movie ...
Pros: Still the same cast. Funny scenes. Cons: None!
Sex and the City was an award winning TV drama that was broadcast on HBO from 1998 until 2004. Did not really start watching it until they started re-running past episodes on the WB 11. Ive seen many episodes and was familiar with the show and the ...
Pros: funny, fashion, friendship; the gals are back! Cons: doesn't take enough risks, more boring than the show, long, messages?
The IMDB plot keywords for the Sex and the City are sex, nudity, friends, New York, and based on television series. If you add shoes, that just about sums it up. Carrie, Samantha, ...
Pros: The chairs were comfortable for a nap Cons: The four giggling screaming idiotic protagonists
Sex and the City....This despicable film is apparently a chicks flick, which would explain why most guys, including myself, hate it with a passion. It is bad enough to be dragged, kicking and screaming, to church or to a funeral, but this was way ...
First an admission: I used to watch Sex and the City on HBO religiously together with my wife. There I said it. I enjoyed the show and I was displeased when it went off the air. My favorite character was not Carrie, but Charlotte; I just adore ...
Pros: Everything about this movie, performances, music, plot, Cons: sex scenes maybe offensive to some
I feel so lucky, as last night I got to go see the Premiere of Sex and the City:The Movie, a whole 3 days before it opens to the general public. Fear not, this movie has been worth the wait. I could not believe how many times I laughed, and then ...
Pros: Eventually it ends Cons: A romantic comedy that's neither romantic... nor comic.
I was recently forced to sit through Sex and the City. This should give you the gist of what I'm about to say. You may wonder why I'm bothering to review the film. After all, as a heterosexual British male in his late 20s, I'm about as far as it's ...
Pros: All the good things about the show are intact. Cons: Breaks no new ground (but is that REALLY a con?)
FULL DISCLOSURE...I'm a 40 something year-old man. So SEX AND THE CITY wasn't really meant for me. But in that, the movie (and the series) failed pretty miserably...I REALLY LIKE THESE STORIES. I find Carrie and her friends to be mostly annoying, ...
Pros: It's the girls you love and know...just a little older. Cons: Some of Carrie's fashion choices.
Being parents of two little boys, we don't go out too much anymore in order to save money and maintain routine. But, my husband was insistent that we go out on a date to see Sex in the City, the movie adaption of the HBO hit of the same name. I ...
Pros: Acting, funny moments Cons: Implausible ending, stereotypical, you could drive across the country and this movie wouldn't be over.
Contains spoilers. Let's be real. Every women is going to see this movie. You can consider yourself to be a hardcore Satanist who skins cats, but you know you're going to wind up at this movie. A friend and I had decided weeks ago that we ...
Pros: Fine performances, some good laughs. Cons: Too long, a few scenes that go too far, Jennifer Hudson.
Guilty admission #1: I did watch Sex and the City when it originally aired on HBO quite often throughout its run from 1998 to 2004. Guilty admission #2: Because I was in puberty at the time, I did initially watch this show because of its T&A content ...
Pros: Getting another dose of SATC and the perfect roundup to the TV show Cons: None unless you don't like Sex and the city!
I was a big fan of the sex and the city series and own all the box sets. I had always hoped there would be a 7th series or even better a movie and low and behold this year saw the much awaited release of 'Sex and the city - The movie'. Oh boy was I ...
Pros: What you would expect from a Sex and the City movie Cons: none
We all know that the Sex and the City series is a wildly fantastical version of New York, right? That no one really lives like Carrie and the girls, and in the real world Samantha would have had a case of HPV and/or HSV to contend with in addition ...
Pros: Some funny moments. Cons: Shallow and immature.
If I was going to do a quick recap of this movie, I'd say if you saw the end of the series, you basically saw the end of this movie. With essentially no plot advancement, "I had to wonder" (Carrie's ridiculously overused phrase in the series)- WHAT was ...
Pros: You will laugh, you will cry, you will want to see it again. Cons: The 2 gay best friends lacked air time, resulting in loss of one-liners.
Why did you buy this product? ***Caution: This opinion is written by a huge SATC fan for the huge fans that have seen this film. If you dont mind spoilers, read on. If you do, stop here.*** I am a self described, number one Sex and the City ...
Pros: It has everything that we missed since Sex and the City Finale. Cons: Weak Story Line. Predictable.
Sex and the City was much awaited by all of us since its grand finale few years back. The return of the 40-something-still young and still single New York women is as refreshing and stimulating as it could be. Carrie Bradshaw, is now a successful ...
Pros: It's witty but has it's moving moments which keep it from being too cheesy Cons: Didn't like Charlotte involving her three year old in their girl talk
For 4 years I have been waiting for this. I was so upset at the way the series ended, too many loose ends and everyone else seem to grow up and get a decent ending except Carrie. I was skeptical that it would let me down by the watering down ...
Pros: Good completion of a television series. Few genuine laughs. Cons: Borderline Porn!!! unless you like that kind of thing.
I am a fan of the show who has watched it solely on regular television and not on cable. My review comes from that perspective. I will try not to spoil the movie for ya. From the first note of the introduction music, I was engaged with this film. I ...
Pros: These are still the women you love only they have grown and blossomed. Cons: It ended after ONLY 2 hours and 15 minutes.
I never watched this show while it was prime time and catch it rarely in syndicate, but I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! I wanted to leave the theatre and walk over to the next theatre and watch it again. I was willing to miss the first 15 minutes just to LIVE ...
Pros: Funny, sad Cons: stiff unemotional acting throughout
I was so excited to go see the Sex and The City Movie when it came out. I am an avid fan of the show on HBO, and I have all the seasons on DVD. I waited patiently for the day to arrive where I could reconnect with the cast from Sex and the City, and ...
Pros: Amusing and sticks to the TV show. Cons: Long and has slow time.
I was so excited when I heard that they were going to be making Sex and the City The Movie. I was a little late to the whole sex and the city craze being that I didn't have cable TV when it was first airing but I did watch the whole show years later on ...
Pros: It was true to the show. Fairly risqué, if that is a pro for you... Cons: Fairly risqué, if that is a con for you...
***As I was looking forward to this movie and would have been heartbroken to know what was coming, this review will be spoiler-free.*** I saw the Sex and the City movie opening weekend with several thousand of my closest twentyish girl friends, some ...
Pros: VERY FUNNY! Laughed the whole time. It stayed true to all characters! Cons: Honestly, there were NO cons at all for me.
I would consider myself a true Sex and the City addict, own the entire collection and have seen each episode more the a dozen times. I think the movie definitely did the show justice, everything was done excellently and I would see it over and over ...
Pros: Characters were more real, aside from their lifestyle as they move into 40s and 50s. Cons: A little long.
I am a fan of the series and just had to see the movie. I found the characters true to who they were in the series although Miranda a bit more cynical, Samantha a little toned down, Charlotte just as kooky as ever and Carrie a bit more serious than she ...
Sex and the city! A perfect story.... by jennasmommy08,Jun 02 '08
Pros: Amazing storyline
Very relateable Cons: Nothing
I was skeptical about this movie after being a fan of the show for so long. But after I saw the movie, I can honestly say that I was blown away. I felt a personal connection to each on of the girl's stories and personalities. When you see them all together again, it truly is like meeting up with the girls. I won't spoil any of the good parts, but I will say that each woman somehow got their happy ending. I laughed and cried. And I would recommend this movie to any woman.
Sex is the City is longer!! by karawo86,Jul 07 '08
Pros: Fun and entertaining. Cons: Left wanting more!
A very entertaining movie to go along with a very entertaining series of TV shows! This movie follows the four characters through their lives, focusing on heartache and individuality. This fairy tale may bring a tear to your eye and may leave you yelling at the screen. The performances were phenomenal and you can't get enough of them! The quirky tendencies, the fashion of NYC, and the power of strong women keeps your eyes peeled on the screen and wanting more.
A chick flick that guys could find amusing by mrbeachy,Oct 04 '08
Pros: I didnt have to pay to see it. Cons: Too long, too stereotypical, didn't understand why jennifer hudson had such a large role.
I was dragged to this movie kicking and screaming either on the day it was released or the day after. As a former manhattan resident, i avoided watching the tv show because it portrays something that ive seen a million times-young,single 30 something women who are only attracted to money, power and status. What are men who arent in one of these categories supposed to do?
Although miranda was the exception when she met and got involved with steve.
It did have a few laughs, but most of it was predictable. It did have some nudity and T&A scenes but when all is said and done its a predictable chick flick that stereotypes single new york women.
