Pros: Great fun for kids and adults. Excellent customer service. Cons: Weak stand, Snowathome told me they are working on an improved stand for next year.
I purchased this unit from Snowathome.com in December for a Christmas gift for my son. My son had found the website months earlier and expressed great interest in making snow for the small hill we have in the back yard he uses for snowboarding. I must ...

Pros: Fun product, easy set up, works excellent, Fantastic customer support. Cons: Wife not happy snow tracks through kitchen.
I found the Snowathome.com website searching the web for a way to build or buy a snow machine for my sons snowboard terrain park we built together in our back yard. We get some snow here in the winter months but not regularly and the snow usually does ...

SG5-LED Snowathome snow maker
by roadstrucks,Jan 15 '07
Pros: Adjustable output works with most pressure washers. Cons: Neighbors kids won't go home.
I purchased an SG5 snowmaker from www.snowathome.com to make snow on a hill on the side of my house for my family to slide on. I called the company before I made the purchase on the website. Dealing with the company was a pleasure, they answered all my questions and walked me through everything I needed to know to make snow at my home. I used my SG5 snowmaker with a Honda pressure washer I already owned and with a compressor the people from Snowathome recommended from Sears. The product works great, the first night that was cold enough to make snow I covered the hill with 10 to 12 of snow. The hill is 80 long and 15 wide. Great fun product! Great Company!

sg4
by dirtdober,Aug 17 '08
Pros: The stand is decent. Cons: Way, way overpriced! Makes icy snow since it freezes up frequently.
The Sg4 is way too overpriced. Makes decent snow at first, and the airline freezes up fast. The LED lights went out after the first few weeks, and their was no way to change out the battery. Made icy snow. Purchased another snowmaker from Bringsnowhome.com which is great. Very strong stand, never freezes up, and makes great quality snow. It also gives my air compressor a good rest, as the sg4 uses too much compressed air, and runs my air compressor with not even a quick rest. The Snowcloud snowmaker from bringsnowhome.com comes with LED lights also, which you never have to worry about any batteries going out, since it plugs into any extension chord. VERY bright and AWSOME effect... WOW... The snowcloud snowmaker from Bringsnowhome.com is not only better, but a much better price too. You can spend more time indoors since you don't have to worry about freeze ups with the Snowcluoud snowmaker, with the SG4 I had to run out every 20 mins and find away to thaw the airline which is a pain. For an effecient snowmaker, Bringsnowhome is the way to go. Hope this was helpful.

SG4-LED Snow Making Device
by majorron,Jan 04 '05
Pros: Easy to assemble, works reliably for hours, easy to order online. Cons: Requires home pressure washer and small air compressor to work.
After a little research on the internet I contacted the people at www.snowathome.com to ask a few questions. They were helpful and pointed me to an area of their web site that specified the compressor and pressure washer requirements for their device, see http://www.snowathome.com/external_mix_1.htm on their web site. I purchased this item for my children to make a sled run, and it worked much better than I expected. We had as much fun making snow as we did sledding. You can expect results like the pictures on their web site and the snow maker works well. Major from Reston, VA
