Pros: Uses less water, electricity, & detergent. Very stylish Cons: Front load design takes some getting used to
Late one night at work I received the call from my wife. Our Whirlpool commercial quality, top load, plain jane washing machine that had given us 10 years of faithful service had quit. We quickly determined the plastic gears that drive the ...
Pros: Budget-friendly, water and detergent-efficient, easy to use, fast spin/less drying time needed. LOVE IT! Cons: You need to know a few quirks first that Frigidaire doesn't tell you.
Kind of long, but worth the read... After a few months of reading up on washers and dryers, I finally purchased this model from a west Houston Lowe's and took delivery this past Saturday. (early Feb 2008) I had almost given up on front-loaders until ...
Pros: Saves energy. Space saver. Fun for people who enjoy technology. Cons: If you are not a tech person, you may experience problems!
I really love my washer....well, kinda! For the most part, it is pretty great. It has a very contemporary look. It is a great conversation piece. Everyone always wants to know how it works. Just looking at it makes you want to do your laundry. Everything ...
Pros: Lots of options and low energy costs Cons: Gross seam that collects everything and bad rinse cycle
I have been using this washer for just over a year and although I like it overall, it has its ups and downs. When it was time to purchase a washer, I knew that I wanted a front loading model and one that met Energy Star requirements. This model was very ...
Pros: Multiple cycle choices, cleans very well with little water, spins nearly dry. Cons: water remaining in gasket/bellows, not reliable
I wanted to like this washer, but after three years, I'm done with it.It had almost all the features - an almost endless choice of cycles (there are 14 choices of cycles), water temps, spin speeds, a digital readout for time left, great capacity, ...
Pros: PRICE, RATINGS, EFFICIENCY, REBATES, simply the best value for the dollar. Cons: Absolutely None. I only wish these babies were available 10 years ago.
When my wife told me she had called an appliance repairman to come look at our 10 year old top loader, I told her to cancel the call. After 10 years, we had gotten the best out of our old Top Loader and it was time to retire it. Instead of the ...
Pros: Both the washer and dryer worked fine for a few years, then problems started. Cons: These machines do not last a reasonable length of time or number of washes.
I bought this set in 1997 for $1900.00 - very expensive then. It was my first new washer purchase as I had always bought used ones before. I have used the Frigidaire set regularly, but not overly: I am single with no kids at home. Everything worked fine ...
I have had this washer for 18 mos and have had to have it serviced twice. At about 3 mos, it stopped running about 2 minutes into the cycles. The repair was under warranty and no charge to me. At 18 mos, it has now stopped spinning. The cost of repair is nearly the cost of a new machine. I am going to cut my losses and buy a new machine in a different brand. I would not recommend.
Pros: Cleaner/dryer clothes out, shorter dryer time, less water usage Cons: None yet.
We have found that our new washer appears to clean the clothes better than our old top loading model, that had an agitator. It also gets more water out of the clothes, apparently with a faster or better spin cycle, than than our old top loader. Gravity, may aid the extraction, on the "down swing" of the spinning motion, I'm not sure. The dryer clothes that come out of the washer, shorten the drying time and this saves one $$ on the energy needed to dry the clothes.
The washer also used less water per cycle than a comparable top loader, thus saving more $$.
Happy with my Frigidaire Front Loader by shriendly,May 17 '08
Pros: Lots of cycle choices, spins clothes really dry Cons: You need to wipe the door and rubber seal off after every use.
This is just an all around great appliance! I have never had a front loading washer before, and I love it. Luckily, I read the reviews before buying, and the one about using less detergent was very helpful. I agree that it takes very little detergent to get plenty of suds. If you are on a budget, and want a great washer for your money, this is the way to go!
Pros: Front load washers do save on water and electricity. Cons: It grows disgusting mold!!!
I purchased this machine about a year and a half ago, and yea, I loved it at first. Over time, mold a mildew build up in the rubber just inside the machine that creates that leak-proof seal and nothing gets rid of it. It smells disgusting, and I don't feel like my clothes smell clean anymore they just pick up that disgusting smell from the rubber. I have tried bleach, detergent, vinegar, everything, and it still is there and it still stinks!
mine was a dud from the very first load didn't get any further by wcadmin,Sep 06 '08
Pros: very pretty Cons:
lemon
I bought this washer yesterday at a small town appliace store and of course paid too much at 783 including tax. But when you need a washer and the bigger towns want to order one it is worth it not to buy another tank of gas to go get one after it is ordered.
The washer didn't even get through one load. I got a J on the display screen and it started blipping off every few minutes before restarting and counting down. It never once spun the load and before I knew it I had soggy clothes and no power at all goig to the machine. Near as I can tell from the convoluted wiring manual it has a circuitry board problem. So I will return it monday and buy a top loader.
It is very pretty though and if I wanted a book end rather than a washing machine I would certainly keep it. Consumer reports best buy my hind end.
